Tough fishing

Although the fishing was rough, the oyster house offered a very relaxing place to shake off the day. It is a very nice place to stay and my family and I hope to stay again in the near future.

Boys Weekend

We have a small camp in Hackberry unfortunately it does not accommodate our 4 sons and my son in law. This was the perfect place for our family to spend time together. It was a great weekend for fishing!

We had a great weekend. The house was perfect for us. We were able to fish and crab close by. The owner was very responsive to questions. We had fresh cookies waiting on us. We will definitely visit again.

Amazing Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

This was by far the most punctual host we have ever had at any place. The Oyster House was very clean, cozy and very accommodating. We look forward to renting with them again.

Best in Hackberry

Always a great experience with Josh. Nice house, great amenities and awesome location for fishing. Sleeps 7 with no bunk beds and that makes the difference. Dont pass this place up if youre in Hackberry. Super host and facility.

BFF Annual “Camping” Trip

We have been picking locations around Louisiana for several years now, to explore with our kids. They love the outdoors and are fishing obsessed. My husband grew up going to the Cajun Riveria, so we were so excited to find this property. It was a great location for everything we wanted to enjoy. The owners were so personable and we will definitely be back!

Very Nice!

Clean and quiet neighborhood, excellent place to relax and stay cool. The waterfront view and quick access to the was lake very nice. Really liked being able to pull right out of the boat slip and go fishing without having to trailer back and forth to camp all weekend. Holly beach is also less than 25 minutes away so we were able to conveniently make an evening trip down there as well. Overall great location and property!

Guys fishing trip

We had another great stay fir our guys fishing trip. Second time we have stayed here and will continue to stay here as long as we can. The house is great and easily accomadated the 6 guys in our group. We fished for 4 days and caught over 70 fish. We even caught and released a 51in red. The owners are super nice and helpful. We love this place and highly recommend it.

Nice little cation with great access to water. Lighting good. Lots of area to clean fish and cook. Needs new AC to keep up with heat as only problem we had was Ac froze up several times Owners great. Just need new unit for this unit

Great Canal Home

Relaxing place to stay. We had a great time crabbing and fishing in the canal. Didn’t catch any fish that we could keep though. Just catch and release under size or hard head catfish. The kids loved being able to crab right in the back yard. We love the community center. Great place for the kids to play basketball, foosball, swim and get great food. The home is just as described. The owners were extremely nice and left us the BEST COOKIES EVER!!

Guy’s Fishing Trip 2024

We had another great trip of eating, fishing and playing dominos. We have been staying at this house for a couple of years now. The house is amazing and has everything we needed. The only thing better than the house are the owners. They are very nice and easy to reach if needed. We left a charger at the hiuse on our last stay and they had it it ready for us on this stay with a note. The owners are great peiple to work with. We will continue to stay at this house for all our stays.

Hackberry Fishing

First, Josh is a great host. He made last minute changes to start our stay early which was a huge benefit for my group. He was easy to reach and has great communication. I picked the house because there were 6 of us and this house has no bunk beds!! Everything we needed was there from dishes, towels, fish cleaning station, boat slip and covered entertainment area. Everything worked as advertised. Location is convenient to Browns grocery, Hackberry and Choupique Bayou, and all the marinas. We had a great time and this property made it convenient. Hackberry is a regular fishing spot when we come from Texas and we will be back at Josh’s house soon.

Great Family Vacation

We stayed for 8 days. Beautiful house with everything needed for a family of 6 and a visitor for a couple days. I have zero criticism and would highly recommend this location. Tropical Storm Alberto certainly affected our stay but we were able to catch great reds, blacks, and sheepshead when on the lake and lots of big alligator gar on skinny water when the storm winds were bad. The Hackberry Recreational Center is also fantastic backup for the kids when the wind is too bad to fish. Great menu and swimming pool with slides and a diving board. Owners were super nice on the phone and live close by. We didn't meet them in person simply because we didn't need anything. We will definitely be back in the near future and will not shop around for houses as this one was perfect! Maybe an addition of a small outside chest deep freezer would be nice if you are on an extended meat haul.....lol!
