Gunlom Falls

Having visited Darwin before, I booked this property expecting an oceanfront view. Unfortunately, the reality was quite different. While the listing creates the impression of being oceanfront, the property is actually some distance from the waterfront and does not offer the direct oceanfront experience that I was expecting. I was also under the impression that it was a penthouse apartment, but the unit is located on a mid-level floor rather than at the top of the 26-storey building. What was most disappointing, however, was the host's lack of flexibility and hospitality. Check-in was strictly set at 3:00 pm, yet the instructions for collecting the keys were only provided at that exact time. As a result, I did not gain access to the apartment until approximately 3:45 pm to 4:00 pm. I also requested a modest one-hour late check-out due to our flight schedule, but this was declined. While hosts are entitled to enforce their policies, there appeared to be little effort made to accommodate guests or provide any flexibility. The apartment itself was clean and centrally located, which are its main strengths. However, the misleading expectation of an oceanfront view, combined with the host's rigid and unaccommodating approach, impacted our overall experience. I would recommend this property only to travelers seeking a clean and convenient place to stay and who do not place much importance on customer service, flexibility, or being genuinely close to the waterfront.
