We spent a magical few days between Christmas and New Year's at the Zen Retreat. We woke up each morning to a beautiful view of the misty forest. The property is quaint and cozy and well furnished. The are are a few things to note. The third bedroom and bath are in a separate guest cottage. This may or may not fit your family situation. If someone in your party wants a bit more privacy, it's perfect. If you want a second bathroom that's conveniently located, it may not. It was raining while we were there so we didn't bother going to the cottage very often so it was more like a 2BD, 1BA. There is no dishwasher, which wasn't a problem for us, just a heads up if you plan to cook a lot.
The entryway/sun room was awesome for reading and gets great light. So does the dining room. The living room is comfy with a warm gas fireplace. It is a bit on the dark side and has lots of manual lights. They have Sonos and a big TV so it was perfect for watching movies and listening to music.
Bedrooms and linens were great. The main bathroom is fine, if not a bit small. Shower and water pressure are good. Just not a lot of shelf space or places to put stuff for multiple people.
We were very comfortable and cozy at the Zen Retreat!
