Great stay, nice hotel - location is great. Hotel just opened so a bit of kinks here and there - warmly recommend. Staff is very friendly and trying hard. Water level was down about 10m due to El Nino. Still great but worrisome longer term with global warming. I think most of the negative reviews were early after opening also this is probably not a destination for north Americans used to vanilla Hilton type stay. Things are different outside of the USA.

Luxe By The Charlee is a beautiful resort. The views of the lake are incredible. The staff was very welcoming and serviceable. We will go back.

The attention and disconnection of the staff, terrible for the type of hotel and place. Esteban, the pool attendant extremely rude. Few people were friendly in the hotel. I do not recommend it is my second time at the hotel and I am disappointed in the poor service.

Beautiful property situated between GUATAPE village and La Piedra del Penjol. 10-15 min by car. We had a rental car the we booked from Medellin, but the hotel will transfer you anywhere by limo or Tuk-Tuk. Ther are always some of them waiting at the entrance of the property.

Lovely, lovely property. Highly recommend.
We had only booked one night here…we hadn’t even had lunch on our first day when we extended our stay here. It is a lovely, lovely property. We spent the first day kayaking around the lake, eating on property and hanging at the pool and then the next day spent in Guatape. It was a great balance. I thought the restaurant down by the lake was a better value, but both restaurants are good food and good service. The breakfast was very good and very filling. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are lovely and the beds are comfortable. If possible, book a room with one of the jacuzzi tubs on the balcony. The pictures are really very accurate of the place. It just has amazing views wherever you look. Only a short (maybe 15 minutes??, maybe only 10) tuk tuk ride to Guatape. For getting around the property, there are free tuk tuks within the resort.

I planned to spend a couple of nights resting However, this hotel was so disgusting that I had to leave after the first night. I would never consider this to be a 5 star hotel by international standards. The food was horrible, the mattress was the hardest mattressI have ever slept on and the pool was filthy.

Check in says open at 3:00pm. I arrived promptly at 3:00pm and my room wasn't ready until 4:10pm. A comp drink or similar would have been a nice gesture here instead of just instructing me to wait pool side. No water first night there. My family was in another room and the next night they did not have any hot water. When we mentioned to front desk their response is "we trust it will be working for your next visit with us". Lake 'beach' access is closed and no signs of anyone working on opening it up. A worker told us, "I don't know why they stopped working on it". Road leading to property is a dirt road with a lot of rocks. It is drivable, but I am surprised that this nice hotel doesn't invest in bettering the entry road. Beautiful pool deck and great service at the restaurant. Food was great. Location to the Town of Guatape and the rock is very convenient.

Great potential of a hotel
While this hotel had great hires and beautiful amenities, they are not fully up and running in the rooms. The TV was not connected, the hot water was not consistent, and even the mini bar wasn’t cold. I am hopeful that if I go back, enough time will have passed for it to get the screws worked out. I would go here does the day if possible, without spending the night.

I really liked this place. The view was amazing and the room was spacious and well done. We had a bathtub in the room and it was great. Only complaint is that the tv remote had MANY challenges and the safe didn’t work.

It is a nice hotel with a nice view. There is not a lot of possibilities to do at the resort itself because they are not finished building yet and the street to and from the hotel is pretty bad and not well lit. Transportation to and from the hotel is primarelly with tuc tucs, which are small vehicles that may be uncomfortable for higher aged adults. Besides that, nice view, nice room and nice service.

This property it’s brand new the view the building architecture is beautiful unfortunately they stop there they didn’t spend on service and qualify personnel super slow service not caring at all when I check in they didn’t have internet or a plan of action the power went out and the backup energy wouldn’t power the whole place they didn’t care at all to make up for inconvenience I wouldn’t come back even because it has a really nice view

We were initially drawn to this hotel by the beautiful images online, please don't fall into the same trap. There are so many other hotels in Guatape submerged in nature and equally as beautiful! What was supposed to be a weekend of relaxation turned out to be quite the opposite, leaving us disappointed on multiple fronts. I think I aged 10 years after leaving this hotel. The beds are hard as rocks. This oversight is a significant drawback, as one would expect the comfort of the mattress to be a top priority for any hotel. The pillows offer no support. Ultimately an awful sleeping experience. The water stopped working one morning for 3 hours. I went to the restaurant bathroom during breakfast to find a horrible surprise in the toilet. Some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced and that's saying something because Colombians are usually some of the nicest people. The check in is excruciatingly slow. The staff seemed determined to complicate rather than enhance our stay. A particular low point was our interaction with the general manager, Manuel Madrid, who could benefit from a comprehensive hospitality management course. Communicating with him felt like engaging with an automated robot, relentlessly repeating the same unhelpful responses. To put it bluntly, Manuel Madrid's demeanor was not only unhelpful but also remarkably rude. Overall, our stay fell far short of the serene weekend we had envisioned

The hotel was newly opened so there were some glitches. Any problems we had were addressed. The staff were all eager to assist us in any way we needed. The setting is gorgeous, absolutely superb. The restaurant was excellent. The deck and pool area are incomparably beautiful. One caveat: the hotel is a little difficult for people like myself with mobiliy issues. Not a lot of handrails. And the road getting there is very steep and windy, but entirely worth the effort!

The hotel opened a few weeks ago and they are still working out a lot of minor issue. The hot water / cold water came out at a very inconsistent temperature. The maid staff didn’t replace dirty dishes and the bar staff were somewhat unprepared to handle simple customer requests. The service was on par with what could be expected at a budget hotel offering, not a place purported to be 5-Star rated and at a 5-Star price point.
