"Old Carriage House converted into a wonderful apartment. We loved the location of this stay. We were just a short walk down from Colchester Castle and High Street, where we could find a wide range of pubs, restaurants, and shops. The city centre train station was just a short walk away as well. Thank you to our host for the awesome check-in and also for the lift to the "other" train station for our trip back into London. If we are ever in the Colchester area again, we will definitely stay...

"I booked this stay for a birthday getaway for me and a couple of friends. It was so beautiful, the location was amazing just outside of a picturesque village. Everything we could need was provided. The beds were amazingly comfortable, the hot tub was exceptional and the communication from Charlie was excellent! Would 100% recommend to anyone looking at booking this place! "We had a great stay at Leno Villa as 2 couples wanting a short break to explore the local area. We particularly enjoyed the outside space, games around the dining table and the comfortable bedrooms. The house is well equipped and well placed for local trips into Manningtree, Flatford Mill (we kayaked from Constable Park, which is a 2 minute walk from the house!) and Dedham. A sign of a good stay is an eagerness to return and we’d be back in a flash! Thanks to Stef & Team :-)"

St Nicholas Hotel

8/10 Good

"Clean and well presented room with all needed amenities, nice bonus was the balcony overlooking the high street"

The Essex Golf and Country Club

8/10 Good

"Overall, the stay was ok. I was not a fan of the connecting door in the room that had no visible lock on my side, which made the stay slightly uncomfortable. The Spa could do with some work, with the sauna door blowing open every 20 seconds and gaps in the Steam room tiles creating cold drafts. The Breakfast was good, but I was never actually welcomed or spoken to. So there might have been things I missed that I was unaware of. That being said, it was a buffet style, so fairly self explanatory."

Holiday Inn Express Colchester by IHG

8/10 Good

"It’s a holiday inn next to a garage with a Waitrose. It’s a fairly nice one tho. Lovely reception / dining area. Bathrooms superb. Tv a little old but ok. Heating not working but had an electric oil radiator. Food fairly poor and very expensive like similar holiday inns. Breakfast was ok. I’d stay here again tho if necessary."

Holiday Inn Express Braintree by IHG

8/10 Good

"Lovely stay. We booked through hotels.com. Booking was easy. Staff at the hotel were lovely and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious. Room and hotel was clean and well maintained. My only comment would be the kettle in the room could do with descaling, this put me off abit that I wasn’t able to have my morning coffee."
