We arrived on a dreich, dismal day but the views from both the front room and the master bedroom were every bit as stunning as we'd been led to believe, the sky changes colour all the time and I can only imagine how beautiful it would be in warmer months
The house had everything we could have asked for with a very well equipped kitchen which we made use of for meals and I even discovered cake forks which I put to good use !!
I was especially pleased to see a great selection of glasses including proper gin balloons, coupes, a cocktail shaker and best of all, a wine cooler with a lovely inscription on it ( I'd actually taken my own one as I hate to have to get up and down to the fridge, 1st time I've not needed it ) I just wish I could have been sitting out on the balcony drinking wine and watching the sky change colour but sadly the weather was too cold or too wet whilst we were there
My husband specially loved the stove and it created so much heat that I ended up having to open a window. We bought a bag of logs at a petrol station and these did us 2 nights
We did a lot of sightseeing and loved Cartmel, minutes up the road which was so lovely walking around even in the rain
We also visited the Lakeland Motor Museum which is a must for anyone interested in the evolution of vehicles and there's the added bonus of The Bluebird Exhibition about the Campbells and their land and water world records.
