Overnight stay in Ashdown Park

Great value, lovely room. Nice outdoor patio area and lovely dinner in restaurant. Staff excellent; particularly Carys on reception who was so helpful and accommodating.

Enjoyable hotel holiday

The room was very clean but needed a little updating. Our fan in bathroom was not working and the flush on toilet was not great. The bed and room was extremely comfortable and cosy with good facilities like water and coffee. The hotel is central to all the towns amenities. The breakfast is splendid and the staff were professional, friendly and assisted us in any way possible.

The hotel was easy to find, even in the dark when I arrived. The staff gave a good traditional Irish welcome, being very helpful. Everything about the hotel was clean and welcoming, very good selection for breakfast and evening meals.

I really loved my stay at this hotel It was warm cosy, great staff , clean great food So my only issue was noise it was a really busy hotel I was on the ground floor and the sound proofing was not great - other that this I was really comfortable with it

Very friendly, helpful staff. Food was very good and excellent value. Overall the hotel is clean but carpets and fabric covered chairs are tired and stained and bathroom fittings chipped.

Good hotel, great location.

Nice hotel and good location. Lots of parking. Rooms was spacious but extremely warm. Food was good but service was slow, possibly understaffed. Car park was noisy at night with people leaving the bar so if you’ve got kids or are a light sleeper, ask for a room that’s not overlooking the car park on a weekend

Good but little things forgotten

Grand hotel, I arrived late and had to leave early so could not try spa facilities or breakfast. Girl on reception was welcoming, I went to my room and slightly dated but overall nice. I realised I had no toilet roll so went to reception which was swiftly dealt with. I looked at the restaurant menu which looked very good, but too late to I went back to my room and thought I’d have a cup of tea before before, unfortunately there were no tea bags, I then also noticed I only had one towel. Seems like my room was semi made up. I was given a nice pack lunch to take with me at 6:30 am with fresh sandwich, cookies and fruit.

Restaurants was very grubby. Tables were not cleared even though the hotel was not busy. Breakfast was poor. Home made brown bread was stale, no fresh fruit available… tinned fruit?? My bedroom apeared to have been upgraded/refurbished (Room 307) but mattress on double bed was old and very uncomfortable.

Amazing

Had an amazing two night stay couldn’t of asked for better I’m not long over back surgery and from the minute I arrived everyone couldn’t do more espically the girls in front desk going above and beyond and to be able to use the pool first time in over 2 and half years was amazing

I was there for 1 night, I was overlooking the carpark. There were children playing in the carpark until late. The hotel is dated, but I'd say that if you are there with a family that its a better fit
