We enjoyed our time exploring Currumbin after many years and look forward to returning to this wonderful area. The beds were comfortable, and the unit was very spacious. We especially enjoyed especially the gorgeous and generous view and large verandah perfect for evening drinks and watching the world go by. The resort and unit itself including the bathroom and kitchen are older, but it was clean, comfortable and private. The kitchen was large with lots of implements for cooking and serving, some were a bit old, but we enjoyed our meals at the large dining table, and evenings in the comfortable lounge room, as well as easy trips to the beach and the Vikings club for a nice meal with a view, which is within easy walking distance for my elderly mum. The cafe close by is always busy and makes nice coffee and meals, as well as the coffee shop. The parking underneath was great, and a short drive away is the Currumbin RSL which is a lovely venue, and The Pines shopping centre.
We arrived to linen on the bench which noted we had to make our own beds, and strip the beds at checkout, which may not concern some people, but for us was quite unusual for resort accommodation, and not as relaxing as normal.
Also no guest hand or body soap was provided in any room, which is not hygienic and also unhelpful particularly to holiday makers travelling from interstate. There are 2 toilets, 2 showers, and a kitchen that all require soap, so after arriving and making our beds, we then had to leave the unit and find a convenience store somewhere and pay a lot of money for soap that we then had to just leave behind. No dish scrubbers or dish cloths were provided in the kitchen either so we had to buy those as well.
Reception was closed before 9am and in the afternoons which was frustrating as we couldn’t access the gym the entire stay (you need a key to get in).
Be aware that if you want to use the tennis court you should bring your own tennis racquets and tennis balls (the racquets supplied were extremely old and no tennis balls were provided. This wasn't possible for us as we travelled from interstate. We requested some from reception but were told that it was up to the individual unit owners to supply them.
Overall we had a lovely time in the unit and thank our host for our stay.
