No smoking.. This single-storey, detached holiday home was built in 2018 and has the most beautiful views across the Gloucestershire farmers’ fields and rolling countryside. It has a spacious open plan living/kitchen/dining area opening up to the veranda which spans the width of the property. Each bedroom has its own en-suite giving you a comfortable stay. This is the perfect getaway for small families, couples and friends wanting a quiet retreat in the beautiful surrounding countryside. For the cycling enthusiasts, there is space to store your bike in the utility room. Your four-legged family members are most welcome here and the property boasts extras including an outdoor tap, with both hot and cold water, to bathe your dog and you can dry them off in the large utility room with a doggy dryer, perfect for when they want to explore the great outdoors!
Set within the owners’ grounds down a private drive, it is perfect for a little peace and quiet. it is located between the pretty town of Newent and the cathedral city of Gloucester with its redeveloped historic docks and an abundance of cafés, bars, restaurants and outlet shopping in the Gloucester Quays Outlet. It is a great area for walking and cycling with footpaths right on the doorstep, the Wysis Way and Three Choirs Way are both within close proximity of the property and within easy reach are the Forest of Dean, the Cotswolds, the Malvern Hills and the Wye Valley. Cheltenham, famous for its horse racing festival and great for shopping, is 15 miles away, Ross-on-Wye and Ledbury are 14 miles away and Tewkesbury is 19 miles away. Shop 2¾ miles, pub and restaurant 3 miles.

Excellent accommodation. Flowers, welcome basket and dog treats on arrival which was a great little touch. Such a peaceful location, lovely views, amazing Veranda and walks on the doorstep, which was everything we could have wanted. Paula and Wendell were such great hosts, we were sad to leave.

Fab accommodation in a very peaceful area yet only 10 mins to Gloucester. Walks right on the doorstep to wonderful countryside, great for dogs as the property has a wrap around patio with an enclosed garden & doggy shower outside. Owners really friendly & helpful. Would definitely use again.

Lovely welcome from the owners, Paula and Wendell, and a generous welcome pack, including a bottle of wine and treats for the dogs. The cottage is immaculate and the view from the veranda is over fields, where you can watch the sunrise in the morning and the wildlife retreat to their roosts at night. There are walks straight from the door and it is ideally placed for visiting the pretty Cotswold villages, the Forest of Dean and to walk along the Malvern Hills, taking in spectacular views of the countryside. A relaxing stay for us and the dogs - we will visit again!

The Old Kennels is a real treat . If you are looking for comfort and relaxation then this is the place to come .Very peaceful location to get away from a busy life . Paula and Wendell were very welcoming and were on hand with anything you needed. They also had a welcome pack on arrival with lovely goodies for your stay . Both were there to send us on our way safely and making sure we had a nice stay . Location was a joy for people and your furry friend . The woods were a dogs dream ,freedom to run and play. Would very much recommend this property ,everything was perfect.

Comfortable cottage 'away from it all' but with Gloucester a short drive away. Very dog friendly indeed and good walks from the house. Covered verandah a particularly attractive feature. Wifi currently rather patchy but rapidly being improved by the owner.

Wow ... what a beautiful place to stay and just get away from it all. The cottage is fully equipped with everything you could need and more. Wendell and Paula were lovely and the welcome basket was super sweet even some treats for the dog, the chilled bottle of wine was a winner too. We definitely plan to visit again in the future. We had a wonderful relaxing holiday in a beautiful cottage everything we needed would rate it 5 star. We stay in about 8 cottages a year and this has to be one of our favourites Owners lovely excellent welcome pack dogs more than well catered for dog loved the shower dryer if needed Good enclosed garden veranda great to sit on and see the sun rise and set hope to be back in the future. Would recommend to anyone who like good furnishings great views lovely dog walking from door and all home comforts plus Internet was very good and very near to Gloucester and forest of dean

Fantastic holiday home, luxury living in a relaxing rural and beautiful location. We had a short but very enjoyable weekend break at the old kennels. Sitting out on the veranda was so relaxing, watching the buzzards, hares and deer, with nothing but bird song for noise. This is the place to stay to get away from it all. All the furnishings are very comfortable, lovely open plan living with all the home comforts you want. Very nice food basket, even the dog had treats, thank you Paula and Wendell. Safe for our dog who had a lovely time in the fenced, enclosed garden and veranda. Lots of footpaths right from the front door. You have to get in the car to go anywhere, but there are pubs etc quite close. Lots of lovely Cotswolds villages within less than 1hr driving distance. Bourton-on-the-Water is highly recommended but get there early as it gets packed. The motor museum there is dog friendly as is Batsford Arboretum in Batsford, which has lovely gardens to walk around, garden centre and cafe, all of which are dog friendly, even the cafe. The Royal Exchange pub was only 10 to 15 minutes away and does a lovely Sunday roast, dogs are allowed in the bar area and gardens. If you use sat nav, it doesn’t pick up the address of the old kennels very well, it tends to send you past the turning, so keep your eyes peeled for the sign that says Rundless Hill Farm which is on a a bend with a couple of houses next to the turn/drive. Paula and Wendell were very helpful and happy to answer any questions you have. All in all we would highly recommend this gorgeous place and we will definitely be returning. The area is so picturesque it would be very easy to just stay at the house the entire time, watching the world go by.

The Old Kennels is a lovely new modern cottage with the most beautiful view from the veranda. Everything we needed was catered for and the owners were very friendly. Loved the starter pack and I can definitely recommend the Bramble Tip wine. Not that we needed it as the underfloor heating was sufficient, but the woodburner was great, plus strong wifi and the 50 inch telly who could ask for more.

Very well appointed. Very warm welcome and super welcome basket too! The balcony area is good for the morning and breakfast outside but not so good for the evening. Will definitely be going back! Next time with our two dogs.

The cottage was beautiful with high spec fittings throughout and it was immaculately clean. Outside there was a lovely veranda with amazing views across the unspoilt countryside. Paula and Wendell were exceptionally friendly and helpful, with nothing being too much trouble. There were many interesting places to visit nearby and country walks on your doorstep. Would definitely visit again.

The attention to detail was incredible. For Dog People the facilities provided were second to none (wash down area, hair dryer, towels, treats etc.). We had a Rain Soaked final day .... so having the Washing Machine and Tumble Dryer were a god send (we were able to do the washing on that day rather than when we got home !!!). The Welcome Pack set the right tone and the recommended Super Markets and local gastro Pubs were great. King Size Beds were also a great idea - as was the large Flay Screen TV in the Lounge. Having TVs with Radio Channels in each Bedroom was also a great idea.
