Having just returned from a 12 day stay in this beautifully quirky house I can thoroughly recommend it. However, having had both ends of the age spectrum within our family group, a child of 3 and an adult of almost 80, I would advise a word of caution with all the steps and especially the beautiful circular steps to the top floor, both the youngest and oldest member of our family needed assistance with this.
Steps and staircases aside, we loved the tranquility of the house, the views from the sunbathing deck, especially at night when the stars lit up the sky, and the pool, which was a big hit with the youngest of our group.
Gaucin itself was equally mesmerising, truly Spanish with everything shutting between 2-5 everyday and yet so very welcoming. We rarely ventured past Gaucin, walking to the local shops which catered for all our needs. We were lucky enough to come whilst the local Feria took place, and although this made moving the car impossible as parking was at a prime, it’s actually far easier, and quicker, to walk.
Tony, the house owner, was very welcoming and very accommodating with all our queries.
