We went with 20 family members and had a wonderful time every couple had there own bedroom and bath 9 bedrooms and 9.5 bathrooms the kitchen had double refrigerators dishwashers and stoves the table sat 24 people it was really great for family time. only went into Gatlinburg or Pigeon for one day. All the grandkids loved the Castle on the green for great family time together.
We expected more from the property. The property looks much better online than it really is. It checks all the boxes but it really is a dated property with most of the rooms along a corridor on two floors. The lighting is very depressing. Kitchen area and the dining area is a life saver. The rear side of the property has a greater appeal than the front. We passed by the front of the property as we did not expect the subdued front.
All rooms have plenty of space, most thing needed in kitchen was provided, great view. Manager was friendly and easy to work with. Good place for large families or groups to stay
Castle was clean and roomy for our group of 18. The kitchen was well equipped. The beds were comfortable. Only drawback was very spotty cell service and internet was poor unless you have a VPN. A storm came through when we arrived and we were out of power for 17 hours but still had a great trip.
This is our second year at Castle on the Green, and I really love it. One of my favorite things is the location right on the 7th green of the golf course. We have several golfers in our family so we can watch and wave as they go by, plus theres a really good mountain view straight ahead over the road. The little creek is fun for the kids to play in and hunt for lost golfballs.
This was at least the 30th time our group of 15 to 19 friends have stayed at the Castle on the Green in the last 40 years. It is a great place for a large group with plenty of common areas to hang out in both inside and out. We'll continue to stay at the Castle as long as we're alive and physically able.
Property is in tip top shape. Rented this house for several years for old dudes trip. Looks like some money spent updating throughout. All private rooms … with private baths. Huge dining area. Great views. Lots of outdoor space.
Everything was amazing! From booking to checkout, it all went smoothly. The house worked out perfectly for our family. No one had to share a bathroom and it was nice to have one in each suite. The house had everything we needed to cook, both indoors and on the grill. Having the icemaker was a huge bonus! The house was easy to find and not too far from attractions, restaurants and grocery store. Becky was quick to respond to any questions or concerns. I would definitely recommend this castle for large groups or family reunions!
We have been staying here a few years and unlike many rentals where the home deteriorates over time, this house has undergone extensive upgrades each year. The en-suite bedrooms are such a plus for multi family guests, comfortable beds, kitchen is equipped with everything (multiples of many) you could ever imagine needing during your stay. Everything always works! The view is magnificent and being at the bottom takes all the worry about navigating winding roads should the weather be inclement as it was this past stay. The communication is instant and they have accommodated every ask we’ve ever posed. Looking forward to our stay in the castle again in 25.
We all had a great time! There was plenty of room for all of us, the rooms are very spacious and the house has everything you need! Having two ovens, two dishwashers and two coffee makers was definitely a plus! The internet is very spotty, but we knew that going in because it is mentioned in the listing. The only thing we weren't prepared for was the lack of tv channel options, mainly for children, but we didn't spend a lot of time watching tv anyway. Overall, the house is great and we definitely enjoyed our time there!
P. S. A bear broke into my sisters Jeep twice through the soft top, so I'd definitely recommend a hard top if you're bringing a Jeep. LOL!
The castle has a lot of space. The bedrooms are all well kept and have plenty of room with good bathroom access. Other than the giant dining table, there's not a great area for the large number of guests you are likely to have at this location to gather and hang out. Living room and basement are small with limited seating.
Everything felt kind of dusty/old on theme with a castle!
The technology within the house is lacking. TV's don't get many channels, and the internet sucks. Having a bunch of disclaimers during the booking process isn't an excuse. It's 2024, fix the internet.
There are signs everywhere posted with rules. Usually hand written or poorly made by someone who clearly doesn't know how to use a computer.
If you just need a place for a large number of people to sleep, this is great. If you want a cozy location to gather with your family or friends and relax, I would look elsewhere on the mountain.
This is a great property for hosting large families. It’s away from the hustle and bustle of Gatlinburg, but close enough to enjoy what the town has to offer.
We have a wonderful time traveling from Jackson Ms to stay at the castle for my husband birthday a family of 18 we had a blast nice and quiet area will be booking again
Ease of getting to everything worth seeing made the stay work for us. Each day at least 3, usually 4, groups went off to different destinations to pursue different interests. The furnishings were more than adequate. The bears were exciting and frequent visitors. The listing should not refer to the dungeon if it is off limits. This was our only problem but late arrivals and early departures took care of it.
The castle has beds and more beds and the kitchen was stocked eiht everything could need to entertain a group. Property is easy to get to with a nice view.
