I got only what i can assume was an automated email from the company asking about our stay and it asked to contact them for and issues that would prevent me from giving a five star rating. Well I sent the email reply below, assuming I would get some sort of response. It's been a week and I've got nothing. That tells me the either don't care, or it was as I said, automated. From my emailed response:
Thank you for checking in. There are some things you need to be aware of we noted when we arrived.
Firstly, the cabin was filthy when we arrived. There was a strong mildew odor and smoke odor. There's mold in the bathroom and soot up the exterior of your fireplace. The floor was dirty and the floor vents need replaced because they are rusted. The oven burners are gross and instantly started smoking/burning since it is apparent no one cleans them. The pillow shams stink like a dirty head. The window in the kitchen doesn't secure with a lock. We know this because we needed to air out the cabin immediately. The grounds need some litter picked up. There are fixtures that don't work as well. The only thing we were satisfied with was the hot tub.
No, we do not feel a five star rating is appropriate. But, we are not asking for any assistance during our stay because we do not want to be disturbed. These things should be taken care before a guest arrives.
In addition, we found the bathtub drain was clogged and there were no pool sticks to play bumper pool. The description of the property claimed it was romantic and private. Neither were true. The issues above completely took the romantic setting away and the other cabins could look right at the back porch where the hot tub was located. I will note the hot worked fine other than having a torn up cover.
Overall our experience with Gatlinburg was good, but not our experience with this cabin or rental company. Won't be staying with them again and would not recommend them.
