Beautiful serene property... you can easily get lost in the amazing background and views. Ideal location! Host was amazing and enjoyed her food and company! Would definitely will stay here again!

This property was clean and cozy. The owner made sure to make us feel comfortable and made us home made breakfast every morning. I can’t wait to visit during the summer months and stay at the same location. The host was tentative and available to all our needs 24/7! Highly recommend

Staying at Eyvindarholt was a magical experience. We stayed here for our honeymoon to Iceland in October and it really made the trip perfect. The guesthouse itself is beautiful, overlooking the water and a huge field out back, home to two Icelandic horses. Aslaug is also a wonderful host! Every morning breakfast was prompt, hot and delicious! We looked forward to waking up to a new breakfast each morning before starting our days adventures. We also found the location very convenient. It was very near the center of Reykjavik, only about 15 minute drive, so just off the main road in a nice little neighborhood and also close enough to the highway to drive out to the coast and the mountains. All in all a perfect place to stay if you are looking for something much cozier and comforting than a regular hotel room.

Must Stay Location

The hostess was fantastic. She was extremely accommodating. We were able to check in early. Our flight landed we went through customs and then headed to our first nights lodging. She has a sign by the road making it easy to find during the day and also at night. She welcomed us when we arrived and told us a little about the area. You have a great view of the city as well as the presidential complex. There is a nearby walking path. The place was spotless. The shower was fantastic. But I can't say enough about the breakfast. It was world-class. Next trip to Iceland I will be sure to check this location first. Will definitely visit again.

Incredible Mid-century modern urban farm

Beautiful upstairs apartment, great views of Reykjavík, spacious, super clean, breakfast is delicious, the smell of fresh bread in morning is such a great start to the day. I would fly to Iceland just to chill at this guesthouse :) Áslaug is such an amazing host, I really can't recommend this place enough.

I would definitely recommend a stay at this guest house to anyone. The owner is really lovely and her homemade breakfast is amazing. We had a fridge, oven, kettle and 2 cooking hobs in our apartment which allowed us to cook evening meals. The beds are very comfortable and the place is nicely designed and clean. The views are superb, too (with views of the sea, lake, birds, the mountains and Reykjavík). There is a good cafe/ restaurant and a Swimmingpool in walking distance. Supermarkets are a 5 Minute drive away. Reykjavík town centre can be easily reached by car in 20 minutes. This place would suit anyone’s requirements and especially people that love nature and don’t want to stay in a soulless city hotel. I would recommend hiring a car to get around, but there is a bus stop nearby. My partner and I stayed at the guest house for 6 nights and we will return there in the future!

We have stayed in quite a few Airbnb’s and have never had this type of experience. The property itself is amazing. Our apartment had everything you could possibly need. Aslaug thought of everything down to providing an umbrella if it was needed! She gave excellent recommendations for restaurants and things to do. It was wonderful to see her every morning during our five night stay. She provided a beautiful breakfast spread for all the guests every morning. Her homemade specialties included pancakes, waffles, omelets and the most delicious bread you can imagine! She also had a selection of homemade jams that was the perfect addition. Another guest needed to leave early for a tour and she provided them a basket full of goodies since they were to leave before the standard breakfast time. Several guests talked about having visited Iceland before and planning to come again in the future. We understand wanting to return to Iceland now. And we would love to stay with Aslaug again! You won’t regret choosing this Guesthouse even one little bit! Aslaug spoiled us and now I want all of our Airbnb experiences to be just like this. Thank you, Aslaug!

Super 8 Tage auf Island

Die Lage des Guesthouse ist ideal. Auf der einen Seite ruhig und mit Ausblick über die Wiesen sowie auf den Atlantik, andererseits ist man mit dem Auto in 10 - 15 Minuten in Reykjavik. Der Service ist hervorragend. Kleine Mängel werden umgehend beseitigt. An Sauberkeit und Servicequalität mangelte es nicht. Nur das Bad war ein wenig eng.

Fantastisches Frühstück. Die Gastgeberin bereitet das Frühstück mit sehr viel liebe zu. Selbstgebackenes Brot, Omlett, selbst hergestellte Marmelade.... Nur einige Beispiele. Geht nicht besser! Hotelzimmer waren eigentlich kleine Ferienwohnungen. Gastgeberin war sehr nett.

The accommodation is ca. a 35 minutes’ drive away from the international airport. It was easy to find and there is enough space to park in front of the house. The apartment itself was furnished in a modern way with a fully equipped kitchen and a nice underfloor heating. The breakfast was outstanding with local and/or self-made food accompanied by a nice view. One could see the chickens, wild gooses and the Islandic landscape from the conservatory - a little chat with the host (if wished) completed the pleasant atmosphere. If you have the time then use the opportunity to visit the swimming pool just a kilometer away from the accommodation (free entrance) and relax with the locals in the hot pools. There is at least one supermarket and a gas station just a 3 minutes’ drive away from the holiday house. We definitely recommend this guest house, it’s a 10 out of 10. It was even possible to see the Northern Lights from its location – a fantastic experience!

We stayed in the largest apartment and found it to be very spacious. The bed was very comfortable and the rooms were always warm. The property is a 15 minute drive out of Reykjavik, which we liked, but close enough to get in easily when we wanted. Breakfast was fantastic, superbly cooked and presented.

Wunderschönes „Guesthouse“ mit drei liebevoll gepflegten Apartments auf der Halbinsel Álftanes direkt am Meer. Sehr nette Gastgeber! Toller Service und das beste Frühstück von Island! Verkehrsgünstig gelegen. Mit dem Auto nur 10 Minuten Fahrt bis Reykjavík und 40 Minuten bis zum Flughafen Keflavík. Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Urlaub im Januar 2019. Wir kommen wieder!

Best hotel experience - host was exceptional and she went out of her way to organise a car rental service for us and have them pick us up. The breakfast every morning was amazing!! So much effort put into the breakfast and when we had to leave earlier than the regular breakfast time, she accommodated for that too - waking up 2 hours earlier and having everything prepared

What a beautiful place to stay! Iceland is an amazing country and the Alftanes peninsula is wonderful. The accommodation is absolutely fabulous - clean,comfortable and welcoming; a delight to return back to in the evening. The bed was very comfortable and we slept extremely well, 'Asa was the perfect hostess, charming, intelligent and helpful and the breakfast every morning was outstanding - I particularly enjoyed her Grandmother's Lumma (rice pancakes) and have taken on the recipe to cook at home. All in all, one of the most enjoyable short breaks we have ever had (and we travel quite extensively). Many, many thanks.

Excellent large breakfast featuring freshly-baked bread from the oven. Other breakfast highlights included home-made jams, preserves, yogurt and numerous sweet treats generously prepared by the hostess.The wi-fi connection in the room was a bit sketchy, but the bed was comfortable and we slept well.
