Our stay started off a bit rocky. This was a family trip, so we three people in our party: my wife, our 8yo, and myself. I had booked a PURE room with a king, which is what we normally do; the kid sleeps on the sofa/pullout and we sleep in the bed.
Check-in went fine, but when we got to the room, we discovered the sofa in the room was a weird deco piece, nobody could sleep on it. Back down at the front desk, we were told that "sleeps 3" means "in the King bed"! Totally unacceptable answer, of course. But they did "upgrade" us to a room with two double beds after a bit of discussion.
Being honest, I did not like the way I was treated, which is best described as "this guy must be poor". I would happily have paid for better rooms, but they didn't bother offering anything, and when I asked about suites they didn't even answer the question.
Anyhow, the new room was not a PURE room, and in fact, smelled damp and wet. No amount of running the AC resolved this over the next few days, either. But it was functionally acceptable, otherwise.
Honestly, the rest of the stay was pretty good. The restaurant had better than decent food. The pool was very nice. Some of the staff was super friendly, some of it didn't make us feel welcome at all, so that was a mixed bag.
Overall, I'm not sure we'll stay there next time. The location is good, but location isn't everything.
Oh! I should note that Expedia is the one that says the rooms sleep 3-4. The Galvez site says 2, I believe.
