⭐⭐⭐ 3/5 – Misleading Listing Photos & Thermostat Issues
We stayed here this weekend while in Gainesville for a soccer game. The apartment itself was clean and generally fine for a short stay, but there were two significant issues that need to be addressed.
First, the listing is misleading. The primary photo shows a brand-new, modern six-story luxury building. That image strongly influenced my decision to book, as it gave the clear impression that we would be staying in a newly built upscale condo building. Upon arrival, we discovered that the photo is actually of a nearby hospital — not the apartment building. This was not disclosed anywhere in the description. The actual property looks nothing like the first photo presented in the listing.
While the price was reasonable for what we ultimately received, the marketing is deceptive and creates expectations that are not accurate. Expedia and/or the host should correct this immediately for transparency.
Second, the electronic thermostat was malfunctioning during our stay. The temperature sensors were not working properly, and the unit was cooling down to around 55 degrees even though the apartment was already cold. It was very difficult to regulate the temperature, which made the stay uncomfortable at times. This definitely needs to be repaired before future guests arrive.
Overall, the apartment itself was acceptable, but the misleading photos and thermostat issues significantly impacted the experience. I hope these issues a
