"Best part if Japan trip. I found best way to reach hideo is through whats app. He speaks very good english. It is off beaten path. About 1hr buss ride from kyoto station.it is a beautiful scenic route.There is a buss that will take you directly there from kyoto station. Just ask information office if you feel lost. "We stayed at Kaya Villa in April 2015. Kaya Villa is a stand-alone cottage in Miyama village about 30 km northwest of Kyoto. "A complete serene get-away. Removed from it all. Booked a suite with a bath and massage chair, also included den area and “dine” area with additional cots for extra visitors. They do close the gate from 10pm-5am, if you’re looking to go out for the night, ensure you’re out until 5am. Otherwise, this is perfect to checkout and decompress. Breakfast was phenomenal and scheduled, you pick your time. There is also a free shuttle to the stations. "
