Marsh Mellow relaxing stay

Jackie was an amazing host. She was responsive to questions about the island and things to do. She even had a few snacks waiting for us when we arrived late at night. It was such a comfortable and clean environment to relax and explore the Outer Banks for our first trip there. Would highly recommend staying here. Location was great, views of the marsh and ocean, and very comfortable setting.

Marvelous marsh hideaway

What a cute and immaculately clean little stay. Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. Our stay was wonderful. The owner was very responsive and even had some nice little surprises waiting for our arrival to enjoy during our stay. The view from the enclosed little sunroom was so nice on the mornings and the evenings. Her recommendations for food were also on point.

Peaceful stop

I stayed at Marsh Mellow while driving through Cape Hatteras. The beautiful tranquil oasis was just the perfect spot for a rejuvenation I needed for a long journey ahead. The surrounding marshes and the beautiful landscape were breathtaking. Jackie was a great hostess and I had everything I needed for my restoration .

Coming back for my honeymoon

I’m not even dating right now, but at least I have my honeymoon VRBO picked out. It was incredible. The most magical part of our trip was this VRBO. It is exactly like the pictures and I can’t wait to come back. Jackie was so kind and even let us take a few of her shells home. We loved it!

Cozy Getaway

The Marsh mellow was everything and more for a couple looking to have a romantic weekend. The entry way garden with exotic plants and flowers were so lovely. I have to say that it has the coziest feel as soon as you walk in. The white couch was our favorite spot at night with candles lit and a glass of wine. Jackie and Dennis were such great host leaving a few special items in the fridge for us to enjoy with our stay. In the mornings with a cup of coffee and the view of an egret in the sound , I will miss that. Thank you so much, we will be back.

Peaceful vacation at this hidden little gem

Jackie communicated very well and took the time to make our stay feel like home. The reviews of this property are accurate but surprised not do not fully describe how nice the space is. Very relaxing and much bigger inside than expected.

Green oasis

Beautiful private space with a great marsh view. Loved watching herons and osprey in the marsh. Great book selections for a rainy day in, and very convenient to beach access, sound access, good local restaurants. Comfortable bed and everything needed to cook simple meals, even cookies and k-cups supplied, which was great for arrival after a busy morning! So nice to have an outside hose available to rinse off sandy feet. Easy parking for our full-size truck and very responsive host. Loved our short stay and looking forward to returning for longer someday!

Senior Special

This was a beautiful place, especially for seniors—no steps and a lot of throw blankets to keep us warm. The place had a big bedroom with a comfortable bed and the living room was beautiful decorated and with a huge bathroom. Our hostess with above in accommodating us when our grand children came and stayed one night. The apartment is well stocked with everything you would need if you wanted to eat in.

Nice stay even in a hurricane...

Very nice and clean. Jackie was wonderful to deal with. Had a great week even with sharing it with Hurrican Debby... No complaints. Highly recommend staying here!

Elegant, Charming, Comfortable and Cozy

The property is beautiful from the grounds to the views and the living spaces. The host, Jackie, added special touches, including a welcome snack on our arrival to providing all the comforts of home. Our visit was brief but we hope to return to Marsh Mellow in the future.

Great Stay at Marsh Mellow

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Marsh Mellow! The location was perfect for our bird watching activities, and the owner was very responsive when I needed to reach her. I would definitely recommend Marsh Mellow and would stay there again when back in the area!

Phenomenal place and stay

Exceptional stay! Made my bucket list trip to OBX a trip come true!! On a scale of 1-10, this is an 11.This apartment is everything in the listing and more! Wonderful and gracious hosts; beautiful surroundings. Exceptionally clean, cozy, private, and quiet! Comfortably furnished with so many little touches like you're at home (even a small personal fan, as well as a ceiling fan in the livingroom). View wildlife and beautiful sunsets from inside the atrium; or even better sunsets, from a short walk to the sound-side secluded beach (bring mosquitoe spray!!!, [which Jackie even supplied in the spacious, and equipped bathroom]). You can cook on the gas grill, and/or make ahead/buy main and side entrees to store in the midsized freezer/fridge to heat in the microwave, and eat at the table in the atrium. Regular and disposable dishes provided. Extras in the fridge, compliments of the hosts! Perfect place for a romantic getaway, especially in fall/winter with the gas fireplace. Exceptional pricing for what you get! Don't hesitate to book it! (Or maybe you shouldn't, so it's available when I want to book it again! LOL!) I hope to do so again soon! Relaxing

A friend and I wanted to take a trip together like we use to. Neither of us had been to the Outer Banks so that’s where we went. Angie was very helpful and she had several suggestions for places to ear and sightseeing. The apartment was very clean and decorated lovely. We would go back there again.

Bay beach oasis

Clean, beautiful, and minutes away from the beach. Jackie was a wonderful host and went out of her way to make sure we felt comfortable. We couldn’t find the grill, and when we came back from the beach Jackie surprised us with a new grill on the patio and a plate of seafood appetizers. Just an example of what an amazing host she is. We would feel lucky to come back!
