Das Solheid Sunday House | Close to Main

This little Sunday Haus has had many purposes in its life. Sunday Haus's were built by the farmers in the late 1800's as a place for them to stay when they came in to shop on Saturday and go to church on Sunday. Most are very small and have an outside staircase leading to another room or a loft. This room is usually where the children slept and the parents slept and cooked downstairs. After fulfilling its purpose as a Sunday Haus it was next used as a Blacksmith Shop for many years. Now the current owners are excited to share it with you as an overnight rental.

Located just two blocks north of Main Street this wonderful little house is on a quiet street and surrounded by other lovely homes. The front porch is the perfect place to enjoy our crisp Hill Country mornings while sitting in the rocking chairs.

Once inside notice the high beamed ceilings with the natural wood creating a spacious feel in this one room Sunday Haus. Enjoy the king iron bed with a tufted cream colored comforter and accented with fluffy pillows. An armoire is placed next to the bed and is used for hanging clothes during your stay. A 42” flat screen television has standard cable. Two comfy armchairs are great for reading or visiting during your stay. The loft above the bedroom is not available for guests at this time. The coffeebar kitchen has a small refrigerator, microwave and coffeemaker. There is a bar table with two stools. Enjoy the hutch in the kitchen showcasing the beautiful china from days gone by. A special treat in the house is the bathroom with the large glass shower boasting two shower heads on both sides and the concrete lavatory with plenty of space for your facial supplies.

Outside is a wonderful private patio with comfortable seating and chiminea; wood will not be provided. On the side of the house is a round rock wall that showcases an old well.

House Rules as Required by the City of Fredericksburg's Short Term Rental Ordinance
- Observe the City of Fredericksburg Quiet Hours (10pm to 7am in residential zones). No music of any kind after 10 pm.
- The City of Fredericksburg is a Dark Sky Community with outdoor lighting restrictions. All outdoor lighting is encouraged to be turned off when no one is present to use the light.
- Observe the designated on-site and off-site parking spaces.
- Place all trash in designated containers.

Perfect stay for two!

This was the perfect spot for just my husband & I. We had quick access to downtown, and we really enjoyed being able to sit outside in the evenings on the patio. We enjoyed very much!

Amazing place

Best place to be in Fredericksburg weekend for thanksgiving! Place was so beautiful and clean. So sweet, didn’t want to leave. Definitely would recommend it. I’ll be back again.

A very nice little cottage. Great location. You can walk to main if you like. Not a high traffic location. Comfortable bed. Best shower we’ve ever had! DON’T bring loads of clothes on hangers (hangers must have been more narrow back then. Vintage Armoire will accommodate some, but not a whole closet) or expect lots of drawer space. NOT a negative review on this matter, but you need to be prepared. Nice “little”fridge. Preview the pics! We WILL book this again!

Very comfortable and very quiet

We stayed the weekend and slept so well! The king sized bed was comfortable and the area is very quiet! The size was perfect for the two of us since we did not intend on cooking for ourselves this particular weekend. The rocking chairs on the front porch and the private patio off the back were also very nice to have.

LOVED IT!!

We've been to Fredericksburg several times over the past 15 years... this is the first time we rented a house. We'll never stay at a hotel again. The house was just lovely, perfect for a couple. We sat on the front porch and sipped drinks at night and watched the deer run down the street. The quiet nights and the comfortable mornings were priceless. Loved our stay!!

Lovely Get Away

My husband and I wanted a last minute night away for our anniversary. The ladies in the office were informative and set us up with a live music schedule, breakfast vouchers and a couple of other freebies! The house is located on a quiet street with amazing houses surrounding it. We love German architecture, the owners did a fantastic job renovating this home.

Amazing little cottage two blocks off of Main St., Fredericksburg. My wife and I had a wonderful time and were able to walk to the venues in town. The room is clean and was stocked with coffee and water. The rocking chairs on the front porch was a nice touch. From everything I read and pictures I saw online I planned out visit to Fredericksburg upon the availability of Das Solheid and it did not disappoint. We absolutely loved everything about Das Solheid; so tastefully & intentionally decorated! Location was convenient yet peaceful. The double shower was the bomb!! It was great, especially the shower. I would suggest you add some type of a handrail at the front steps or another vertical post right next to the steps. I have a hard time walking and doing steps and fell once going up the steps.

Perfect In Every Way
