Depictions of life when the fort was in use we’re very interesting. Displays and exhibits were very informative.

I'm not a history buff so I made it through this in less than 45 minutes. Also they close at 4:30 so if you show up after 3pm they tell you your ticket is good for the next day as well. I meant to hand my ticket to someone before I left so they can use it but I forgot.

The island is a summertime tourist mecca. However in the Winter there are only a few hundred permanent residents on the island. The only reliable transportation this time of year is to fly, that is weather conditions permitting. Beautiful to be there if you don't mind the cold and snow.
