  • Located behind this gated wall is the home that Joseph Kennedy purchased in 1933 as a family winter home. It was here that Future President John F Kennedy wrote his inaugural address and selected his cabinet. It was also here that Joseph Kennedy had a stroke in 1961 that left him unable to speak. And, it was here that JFKs nephew William Kennedy Smith was accused and acquitted of rape in 1991. The home was sold for 4.9 Million dollars in 1995.

Everything was excellent starting the night we arrived , our flight in was late and hotel called to be sure we were still coming and made arrangements to get us in our room after hours . Friendliest people youve ever met , room with kitchen was spotless and awesome , pool right outside your door . We loved the carriage house and already planning going back next winter

Apartment style room was spotless, the pool and property were stunning, the staff was welcoming and friendly and to top all of that off, it was just steps from the beach....wonderful!

Great location, easy access to beach, parking right out front, pool is very nice. The rooms themselves are dated, showers need to be upgraded. Beds aren’t particularly comfortable and rooms don’t have the greatest insulation. For a beach motel for a night or two, it’s fine. Rooms looked nice still and staff was very friendly and accommodating.

We communicated with the property long before our arrival and requested a room on the top floor and were assured we would get one. When we arrived at just after 4:00 PM. We were told they had no record of the request and that if we had been there a half hour earlier we would have got one, but they were all gone. When I showed the lady the text conversation I had with them she said that it couldn’t have come from them, even though I had shown her that it did. Anyway, it was just 1 night before a cruise, so we just took the ground floor room. This hotel is like time traveling to 1975! Yes there are some newer pictures and headboards, but the rest is straight from my childhood, literally. There is like 15 coats of paint on all the trim and paint is peeling on the doors (likely because the base coat is 1970’s oil based paint). It wasn’t dirty, accept in the corners and the shower, but it was sooooooo tired and old! Combine that with the less than stellar welcome and I have to say, I wouldn’t stay here again on a bet! The only upside is the beach is a short walk away and it was an ok beach. There are many things I miss about 1975, but motels like this aren’t one of them.

We enjoyed the king suite. The room was very spacious and clean with lots of drawer space for clothes. Loved the pool area which had plenty of seating and was well maintained.
