"We had the most charming stay a the Lake Hotel Gistihusid in Eglisstadir. The room triple room felt like a full on apartment- it was spacious, modern, and cozy. We enjoyed access to the onsite Spa. The staff was responsive and friendly to all of our requests. Breakfast was a highlight- many options, with a lot of Icelandic influence. We dined at the restaurant for two evenings. We found the food delicious and very good value in comparison to other restaurant hotels we ate at in Iceland. Overall this was our best value stay in all of Iceland. We will definitely return to this hotel on our next tour of East Iceland."

The breakfast was the best we had on our trip on the island - my husband and I still talk about the homemade croissants and jam! "The staff greeted us quickly and gave us a tour of the place at check in. The room was clean and perfect for our needs. The catfish at dinner was cooked perfect. The breakfast was excellent and we never ran out of the essentials. We saw the Northern Lights over the hotel that evening. I'd stay here again for sure. Thank you for you hospitality!"
