"We really enjoyed our stay at the lodge. It was very cosy and well equipped. The setting is stunning with beautiful countryside and a haven for wildlife. It was lovely to see the otter and so many different birds, the woodpeckers being our favourite. Angela and Shaun have obviously worked very hard to make this into a special place to come and stay. If you want some peace and quiet, this is the place to be. Sitting in the hot tub, overlooking the lake is a blissful way to enjoy a glass of wine...

"Absolutely loved our quick little get away. Lovely remote area and amazing for stars at night. The cottage was a good size even with a toddler running about. The welcome basket was a saving grace and loved the bara brith (ordered more to take home as gifts too). We went into Llandeilo which had not many but lovely shops and on one of our days drove for about an hour to get to folly Farm. It was nice and relaxed and the hot tub was so comfy. "It's a welcoming small hotel with friendly, helpful staff in a beautiful harbour location. There's a buzzing bar area with tables, and a separate dining room for guests - both serving the same menus. Fantastic base for enjoying and exploring the area"

"Booked room only in a "Very good" room, which i would probably describe as good. The pictures online make it look a lot bigger. We travelled in the heatwave, and the small window in the rooms only opened a few inches. There was a small fan provided, but for me, it just moved the hot air. Due to the heat, I didn't get much sleep. Also at 6am on Monday morning, the bin men came, crashing, banging and emptying the bottle bin at 1000 decibels. Prior to arrival, I rang to request a parking space as a blue badge holder. The lady I spoke to said they had a space, but it was about 40 steep steps down to the hotel. She explained there was a pay and display car park up the road, on the flat. On arrival, we went to the hotel car park, and wow, she wasn't wrong. I took a while to get down the steps, but knew there was no way I would be getting up them. On check in, the lady I spoke to took us to see an accessible room, but it was quite small and dark, so stuck with our original room, up two flights of stairs, no lift due to the age of the property. On departure, I found it easier to exit the hotel, and walk the route to the car park along the main street. Uphill, but no steps. All in all, if you have any mobility issues this isn't the place for you, however the lady on check in went over and above to find the most suitable room, and even offered to carry our bags. We did not eat at the hotel. I'd give it a 7 out of 10."

"The village was lovely with a petrol station and shop opposite that seemed to stock more items than Harrods. It was like an Aladdins Cave. And beautiful walks all around. Hotel was inexpensive but was as good as many I have stayed in at double the price I paid. Very professionally run, and I was impressed and will definitely stop there again."
