"Our first time staying at this property. So glad we found it - it will be our first choice for future trips to Chesdin. The house is spacious and wonderfully appointed. Kitchen has everything you'll need. Plenty of parking (we had 2 boats/trucks). The neighborhood is quiet and safe. House sits right on the water w/ a fabulous view of the sunset. This place is great for a family get-away or homebase for a fishing trip. Minutes to the Whippernock ramp."

"A beautiful, not too rustic cabin set well back from the road. There are no neighbors in the backyard except for the birds, squirrels and deer. There are no neighbors in the front yard either. The house was fantastic because it was affordable for college kids (though one needed to be 30 years of age to book it…I exceed that age), it had lots of beds and enough bathrooms and a kitchen. "We had a great stay at the Happy Place and wished we'd had more time to explore the local area. The house was very clean, and spacious with lots of modern equipment. We had big soccer tournament in the local area which was 15 moinutes drive from the house so it was perfect location for us to relax in between the games. "The cabin was very cute, it is really for people who are younger and wants to camp out. For us it was not a good fit. It was discribed as a two room but it’s really only one room with a loft for sleeping. The water pressure is very low and the electric kept going out. My dad has a C-pac so we had to leave and find somewhere else to stay."

"A really charming and quirky house, perched on an overlook above a bend in the James river. Very friendly host, nice grounds, and plenty to explore in the surroundings. We did some outdoor grilling and a fire in the pit on a very starry night. The kids were disappointed that the hottub wasn't working that weekend, but there were plenty of games and some swings nearby to keep them occupied."

"The property was clean and functional. We needed a place to stay with the family dog while waiting to close on our nearby home purchase (we were coming from out of state). We were happy with property and now live nearby. The only downside was the gravel road drive through the woods at the end. We're not used to that, but it really wasn't bad. Nice place to stay. We're grateful that we found it. Owner was very friendly and accessible. That was a big plus."
