"Not much natural light and living area a bit small but really nice stay. Floors were not clean on arrival but other then that no issues at all"

"Stayed 2 nights in this beautiful home, with 4 private spacious bedrooms it was perfect for the 4 mature age couples that went away for some fun and sun. With 2 living areas, 3 tv’s, a large kitchen and 2 beautiful balconies, there was plenty of room for everyone. With the price shared between the four couples it was very reasonable for the quality of house to share."

"We arrived to to a dark, cluttered smelling flat. The windows and front door have no fly screens so opening them was not an option, unless you like midgee and mosquito bites. The place was packed full of furniture so there was no space to move. Dead cockroaches decorated available surfaces. The outdoor back area was full of cobwebs and leaf matter and the yelping puppy next door completed the ambience. The bedroom fan didn’t work and there was no aircon. The first day a man knocks on the door...

Missing some furnishings and the ‘frills’ but made our time less stressful when there was less for our 1-4 y/o toddlers to break. "We enjoyed our stay at Holiday Haven. Convenient to main streets for food and for fishing spots. Beds in unit are really uncomfortable though. Mattresses hard and beds squeak. Having the pool straight outside the back gate was fantastic!! Also great to have the bbq. Overall we were really happy and would stay there again (hoping for more comfy beds)."

"four day stay for some family commitments & some relaxation.we drove from Sydney so were late for check in. Called the reception during the day & they tested me all the after hours check in details. we had a one room cabin with a covered outdoor area. Very comfortable. Plenty of hot water. Cooked dinner one night & stove top worked well. Convenient location - you can walk to the surf & to the restaurants. Have stayed before & would stay again"

"Evans Head just large enough to have the essentials, small enough not to be a hustle and bustle.Unit was just far enough out of town for a enjoyable walk along the beach, shop for supplies, coffee and pies and a stroll home.Lovel walks along Airforce Beach morning and evening.Sitting back on the balcony enjoying the latest book."

"Good space for the 5 of us with the 3 bedrooms, the patio is convenient. Needs a good spring clean though, cob web and dust in corners, under beds and bathroom exhaust. Good range of kitchen equipments but non stick pans need replacing. Great location and quite area. Overall fine for the price but a deep spring clean, replacing fly screen on sliding door and an upholstery clean of the arm chairs and a fresh coat of paint maybe is needed to meet it the “stylish” title it claim to be. "

Stairway to Evans holiday

"The property is central to various eating establishments, including the bowling club, Illawong Pub, a bakery and coffee shop, walking distance to IGA and SPAR, gift shop etc. easy walk to the beach and another coffee shop. Had friends staying at the caravan park that is beside the bowling club, so easy to visit with them. Good sized fridge, microwave and toaster. On-site washing machine and clothes line. Air conditioning in lounge/ breakfast area and main bedroom. Second bedroom had comfortable queen bed, overhead fan, but otherwise very spartan. "

Could be great, but…….

"The unit is in a great location, quiet and opposite the beach. It looks very nice, well furnished and decorated but it is let down by lack of attention to detail: Apparently the letting agent, Elders, was supposed to give us a Starter Pack of basics when we collected the key. Yhat didn’t happen, so went went shopping for toilet paper, detergent, soap, dish cloth, and washing powder, all of which were in the Stater pack we received 2 days later! Besides all that, the salt and pepper shakers are empty, there were no details Rd wifi or password, the security doors didn’t lock,kitchen floor was greasy as was the filthy bbq which didn’t work anyway(we found a gas lighter in the kitchen eventually but , of course, that didn’t work either). The kitchen had virtually no bench space or storage, the laundry tap ran constantly, one tv didn’t have a remote and the other wasn’t connected to aerial. I could go on, but in summary, dubious maintenance and poor attention to detail. Stayz promotes their properties as better than other booking agencies, but this place proved to be just the opposite."
