Vanaf de aankomst met de ondergaande zon over de baai tot ons vertrek wederom een geweldige vakantie. We hadden opnieuw prachtig weer waardoor we elke dag naar buiten konden. Het huis is ook een perfecte uitvalsbasis voor voor Bretonse geschiedenis. Binnen een uur in Saint Malo, in ander half in Mont St. Michel maar ook Ile de Brehat en dichterbij prachtig uitzicht vanuit Cap D’erquy of Cap Fréhel en het bijzondere kasteeltje Fort La Latte. Het huis zelf is ook heerlijk. Alles aanwezig en heerlijk om in te leven met een gezin. De open haard geeft het een heerlijk gemoedelijke sfeer. Kortom op en top Bretagne!

Het uitzicht van het huis was geweldig! Daardoor zou je bijna de andere mankementen vergeten. Het huis was niet echt schoon. Wij hadden het huis uitgezocht omdat er 2 badkamers aanwezig waren. De badkamer op de 1e verdieping was mooi maar ook niet echt schoon. De badkamer beneden was ronduit smerig. Schimmel zat overal. Deze hebben we dan ook niet gebruikt! Het huis ligt echt op een mooie locatie en heeft een geweldige tuin. Maar er moet een schoonmaakploeg in om het huis perfect te krijgen.

We stayed a week in this beautiful and characteristic house with New Year in 2019/2020 and enjoyed the most amazing sunsets over the beach and cliffs. I loved the combination of a glass of Amarok Breton whisky in front the fireplace. But it’s also a great place to explore the beautiful nature of Cap D’Erquy or visit Cap Frehel and Fort la Latte. And not to forget the ping pong table in the basement. In any case it is one of our favorite places and we hope to go back soon!

De eerste indruk was goed, een sfeervol, ruim huis, mooi uitzicht op zee. Bij nadere inspectie vielen er toch wel wat dingen tegen. Beneden was het huis prettig ingericht, meerdere zitjes, de keuken redelijk modern en van alle gemakken voorzien (hoewel je voor een huisje met 7 personen toch wel meer dan 3 koffiekopjes en twee theebekers verwacht zodat je niet steeds hoeft af te wassen). En wat is een Frans huis zonder kurkentrekker? Het sanitair was wat verouderd. Het was wel fijn dat er drie wc's in het huis waren, maar het sanitair in de kelder was niet erg aanlokkelijk ivm met de wat muffe en stoffige kelderomgeving, helaas was daar de enige echte douche. Op de slaapverdieping was er een bad in de badkamer met douche maar die kon niet aan de muur bevestigd worden. Vooral het toilet op de benedenverdieping trok niet goed door en was bovendien erg vies, niet schoongemaakt (al enige tijd zo te zien). De rest van het huis was op sommige plekken ook niet goed schoon, bv in de keuken waren de de deurtjes van de keukenkastjes nog vies, de hoekjes en randjes van het aanrecht, en ook de badkamer was niet helemaal zo schoon als je zou verwachten voor de prijs die je betaalt voor de schoonmaak. De tuin is lekker groot en leuk voor kinderen om in te spelen, er kwam eenmaal een tuinman het gras maaien. Verder zou de tuin wel wat groot onderhoud kunnen gebruiken, want de bomen waren zo hoog dat ze een deel van het mooie uitzicht op zee benamen. Jammer want dat is juist een van de pluspunten van het huis. Wat ook wel het vermelden waard is, is dat het huis aan een drukke doorgaande weg ligt, dus als je licht slaapt kun je daar last van hebben. Al met al een prima en sfeervol huis, maar dat op een aantal punten wel wat aandacht verdient, en dat vind ik niet overeenkomen met de prijs die je ervoor betaalt.
