"The apartment was very clean, spacious, tastefully decorated and the owners have thought of every last detail to make the stay absolutely perfect. We had one double room and the bathroom and our Mum had the other double bedroom with ensuite. She has mobility issues and can get into a shower cubical but not a bath with overhead shower so it made it great for her. "Single room looked out on to an air conditioning unit outside on the roof and into a house on other side of road. Kept curtains shut as nothing to look at. Watermarks in the ceiling. Shower riser fell on me in the shower. Staff unengaging in conversation. No pleasantries. No welcome. Female solo traveller and engaging, friendly customer service is everything when you visit a hotel. On check out no one answered the bell on the desk. I had to find a waiter and let them know I left my key on the desk. Disinterested in conversation and only said ok."

"Having had quite a difficult journey, the staff at Loch Shiel hotel were utterly superb and went above and beyond for us. Not only were they kind, friendly and so patient but the amenities and room were fantastic. You have not experienced Scottish hospitality until you’ve been to this hotel! Food was delightful and only beaten by their wonderful service. There was a great lively pub down the stairs and the rooms were cosy, clean and so comfy! Couldn’t recommend the Loch Shiel Hotel enough!"
