"Neighbourhood was great with proximity to forest paths, river and the famous Titisee and Schluchsee. The "detached quiet cottage for 4" left a lot to be desired. Transparency on costs per night: apparently price on Vrbo is for 2 persons, with each additional person at 15.80USD per night on my booking. Cleanliness: Living room sofa was full of hair from a previous occupant. The bed in the childrens room had traces of confetti or sweets from a previous occupant. Communication: Nothing...

"We share the positive reviews of many aspects of this property. It's very spacious (although the swing of some doors cause odd pinch points). We were only three, and would have used only the ground floor but for an issue (see later). The kitchen is well equipped, the induction stovetop was great to cook on. The location is properly noted, but Marie's L'épicerie in the village was closed for August vacation. (Which I imagine is an annual event.) That meant we needed to drive 6+ km for morning...

"On the 3rd floor so up to lst floor for entry then 18 steps to the rooftop apartment. Very well stocked wuth glassware, crockery and utensils plus soap and flannels. "We very much enjoyed our week in the Alsace region of France. Jebsheim was a good base to explore the area and pop across to Germany. Hughes and Edith Peches are extremely welcoming and supplied us with delicious eggs from their chickens on site. The area is rural so good if you want to get away from it all. There is a restaurant nearby but being English we did miss a pub!"
