My family and I were in search of a property that would allow us privacy and the feeling of a cabin in the woods. We were delighted with the build quality of the cabin and the responsiveness of the property managers. The explanations and details given in the listing matched our expectations when we arrived. We visited the town of Edenton exploring a rich history of early America.

Lovely log cabin...just right. It sleeps 6 but was perfect for the 2 of us. Nicely decorated and attention to detail. Will visit again when we can take advantage of all the extras. We visited in January...perfect to relax away from work.
Wonderful get away, very quiet and relaxing. We really enjoyed spending a day in Edenton. People were so friendly, and we learned a lot about the local history.
Spent a weekend at the cabin for a last minute get out of town trip. Cabin was very clean, comfortable beds, and kitchen had all we needed for a short stay. Nice quiet location, short walk or golf cart ride to the river. Kids really enjoyed poking around the wooded areas and the water.
We were visiting our kids and were lucky enough to stay here at this gorgeous log cabin. Everything was clean and felt new and fresh. There is a golf cart and pier to enjoy but the cabin was the best. Host responded quickly when we texted. Morning coffee on the back porch was our favorite. If you're in the area, check out this log cabin.
The cabin was just as pictured. We loved relaxing on the screened in porch each evening. The pier is a short walk away and we were also able to sit at the big house that overlooks the river. Historic Edenton is a short drive away. This is a great place to enjoy a quiet weekend away. We would definitely come back again.
Came with my family to get away from the city. It was so beautiful and peaceful. Folks are so friendly and helpful. We are definitely going to return. Very neat and clean and fun! The kids had a great time. It was a wonderful weekend getaway!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were escaping Hurricane Debbie and even with spouts of rain we still had fun fishing, riding the golf cart, exploring the area and making friends with the neighbo dogs. The cabin was so cute and had all the perfect touches. Thanks so much.
The cabin and the decorations are stunning. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan to return. We got to meet Doug which was nice as he gave us very interesting details of the history of the cabin. Other than food you have everything you need. Thank you for allowing us to have a quiet weekend getaway.
This is a well built, cozy and beautiful log home set in a very quiet neighborhood at the River. We wanted a quiet and private place and we found it. We met the owners and they were great. They are very generous with their whole property. The golf cart was fun and handy and we enjoyed the fire pit one night, too. Cant wait to go back!
Great cabin, everything was clean and orderly. We did have a hard time finding it, as there were no address numbers on the cabin. That’s the only reason for 4 stars on the check-in process. Other than that, it was great. Thank you!
Everything was as described in the listing. Owners are very nice and easy to communicate with. We had a very relaxing time. The view of the Chowan River from their porch in amazing. Highly recommend.
We enjoyed staying at this beautiful cabin. It was very relaxing. The owners lived in the house up the hill but it was still very private and they were quick to respond to anything we needed. We liked taking the golf cart down to the river and sitting on the pier. The owners even offered to take us on their boat and they fed us dinner one night.
Beautiful property, cozy little cabin. Perfect for a little weekend away.
There was a little snafu that happened when we got there and the hosts handled it immediately. They really care about their guests and we had a great time. I only mention this because often the quality of service is best judged when there is a mishap. We got A+ service and resolution.
on a brutally hot weekend, the cabin provided access to river, shade from trees and A/C. Well kept cabin for families or friends who dont mind the open sleeping set up. 2 beds upstairs and sofa bed downstairs. easy access to quaint Edenton.
The view of the river from the top of the hill is gorgeous!
We thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor firepit on a cold February evening. The hosts supplied ample firewood which we haven't often found to be the case at other vacation rentals. This was just one example of the attention to detail for this lovely cabin.
The decor of the cabin, inside and outside, is so thoughtfully done including the surrounding property.
We hope to visit again soon.
The property owner, Doug, was friendly and helpful but never invasive. The cabin was built very well with some beautiful copper sinks. The front porch is great for morning coffee, dock on the river perfect for late morning early afternoon, grill for dinner or go to a nearby town, smores in the firepit.
Something to note: there are dogs all around the property, be careful driving! They don't really come up to you if you don't call them, but they're all very friendly if you do.
Mountain vibes in eastern NC. This cabin was immaculately decorated and clean. It was quite small, but the outdoor areas were so beautiful, we preferred to be outside anyhow. The beach access was just a short walk, but the golf cart was a nice convenience. Pontoon boat, bait, kayak, fishing pier, firepit with firewood provided, hammock, porch swings, basketball goal all available. We enjoyed the neighbors, they were really nice and welcoming. We enjoyed nightly visits from the neighborhood dogs and cats, all were very friendly and just wanted pets. Will recommend!
We loved our stay in this sweet little cabin. On the evening we arrived, we walked down the road to the river. A couple neighbors waved to us and a couple dogs greeted us in a non-aggressive, friendly manner. Once we reached the dock, we savored a truly peaceful interlude, sitting and watching birds in the color-changing sky. We didn't meet the owners in person while there but it was nice to know they were nearby if we needed anything. Great getaway and a great base for visiting Edenton, Elizabeth City or Merchant's Millpond a bit further away. Would definitely recommend this cabin to friends visiting the area.
The cabin is much better than pics. Its not right on water. But behind a house thats right on water. Place is really cool, and felt safe, and even tho you are behind someone's house, it still seemed very private! The host let us extend our check out time, and answered to all questions appropriately. We had such a great time! Did not want to leave!
This cabin was exactly what I was wanting. It's very cute and cozy. The beds are very comfy and clean. The outside was also very clean and the pier was very cute. We got to meet the neighborhood fat cat and he is very friendly. Fire pit was great. The only thing it was lacking was clear instructions on what the check out instructions were but we did clean up our mess and left it clean. The drive into Edenton was about 20 min. And wasn't a bad drive but if you are wanting to drive back and forth keep that in mind. Over all 5 star stay!!
We all had an amazing time!! My 28 yr. old son, wife and 4yr old grandson and my 15yr old son along with my husband had the absolute greatest time. This place pleases all ages. Golf cart was so much fun. You can ride it right up to the pier. Beach at the river was perfect for the grandbaby. Shallow waters. Not a lot of people around for distraction so we kept a good eye on him while he played in the water. Caught a couple perch but they were small, and we threw them back. But we didn't spend much time fishing as we were having much more fun exploring the property and playing in the water. Great hosts helped with any questions quickly. We will definitely be back for another visit soon and many more to come.
Really first class property. Interior design/decoration is fantastic. Very unique with the saloon, the doghouse, etc. You've built your own little resort area on the sound! The golf cart was fun for the kids. The fully stocked firepit was a huge perk. The pier access was also a huge plus.
Some suggestions - there were a few things that were a little confusing about the property that we had to figure out. The checkin process obviously was not clear, just including a note in the online reservation about the key location would fix that. Inside the house, I didn't realize there was a another refrigerator under the counter until our second day there. Maybe some labels in the kitchen to show where things are? Lastly, the property itself is a little confusing with the neighbors, multiple buildings, etc. I saw the helpful map you had drawn out in the binder, but I didn't find the binder until our second day there either. Maybe have it more prominently displayed / labeled upon arrival.
Really appreciate you opening the property up to us and for your hospitality!
What we enjoyed about this little cabin: High quality materials throughout. Loved the chunky logs and beams- Beautiful. Quiet, peaceful, secluded. Plenty of soft fresh smelling linens. Thoughtful and fun decor. Everywhere we turned, we said, “Look at this!” Kitchen countertops are a show-stopper! Rain-head shower was so nice. Golf cart ride to river was fun! Soft sofa. Night lights. Coffee bar. Porches. Bath mats. Fancy soap. Plug-in air fragrances- smelled lovely as soon as we walked in. And so much more.
What we thought could have been better: *We got lost on the way to river- maybe a less complicated map? We still enjoyed the ride. *From the pics in listing, I thought there were river views from cabin (literally the river in backyard)- obviously my misunderstanding, but maybe clarify the proximity of river? Even without water views, we enjoyed so much, we would return. *Took a while to figure out remotes- maybe include instructions? *There were no coffee filters. *Usually when we rent cabins, travel sized shampoos & body wash are stocked. I didn’t realize this is not stocked and did not bring any. *A hair dryer would be nice.
