「This place is a gem! Just a convenient eight miles from the town of Cape Charles, this 3 room inn sits on its own private beach in its own little oasis of peace and beauty. The room was comfortable and well appointed, and the host is very friendly, helpful and welcoming. I really felt like a guest in someone’s home. I highly recommend the Baywood - the in town properties look very nice but everything is so easily accessible that it’s more than worth it to stay in this off the beaten path spot...

「the hotel room wasn't great, but the location is, your right on the main strip, everything is within walking distance, you also get complementary coffee and pastries from the shop next door. The best pastries on the island hands down!! The staff was wonderful. Really more like family, everyone was just so nice. I will bring my family back to the Maddox. we enjoyed it evry much. Thank you. 」

「Every room has a private balcony overlooking the Chincoteague Channel. It’s wonderful to wake up in the morning to the cries of gulls and to watch the sun set at the end of the day. Rooms were comfortable, the pool temperature was just right - even in mid-summer - and staff was responsive and kind. The hotel is on the quiet edge of Chincoteague’s downtown. It’s fun to bike around this village and out to Assateague Island. 」

「It was our 5 yr Wedding Anniversary, and we had a great trip! Just wish there was a late check out that did not cost extra, many other places we have stayed offered it til noon, and if wanted longer after noon, then there was an additional charge.」
