"First things first. Hands down the best dinner we had in Iceland. There was considerable conversation about trying to recreate it at home. We ate family style and the meal was bountiful. The Wilderness Center is a drive from the Ring Road, a bit out of the way if you don't have time to smell the roses. It was truly an idyllic setting with waterfalls (small ones), mountains, river, and plenty of sheep and lambs. We stayed upstairs in the main house. The room was clean and comfortable. Not too spacious but sufficient. The staff were all friendly. I think this stay was more of an experience than just lodging. Oh, and breakfast was lovely and plentiful with fresh homemade bread."

"I am conflicted on how to rate this place. It is not in my books a hotel. It is a school converted into hotels rooms in the off season trying to be a hotel. Firstly, when we drove up to it I questioned I was at the correct spot. The markings need to be clearer. There is a placard sign almost at the doors that needs to be closer to the round about. Secondly the construction on the building by the front doors and the unkempt garden beds makes the place look super sketch. We basically slept in a dorm room. Beds were ok and they gave us extra pillows. There was NO dinner. There was a breakfast buffet but we read the trip advisor comments and went elsewhere. This place has potential but needs better management or something."

"We stayed for 4 nights, we had everything we needed in the room, with a convenient and clean shared kitchen. The little town is so beautiful, and the fjord is just a perfect picture (you can drive with a regular car up to the river crossing). Getting to the town is through a beautiful mountain pass, that is just a whole experience by itself. It's a great spot for going north, south, or west. A little tip, the bakery in the gas station right next to the guest house is really great."

"Great stay, not very many people around , the hotel was very clean and accommodating , the hotels restaurant’s was French, and the other restaurants in town that was open was the cafe, we enjoyed an amazing pizza! Room was perfect very spacious for 3 people! Highly recommend!"
