"So much better than Amsterdam. A beautiful fishing village just a bus ride away from Amsterdam. We loved it. The location on the canal was incredible. The house inside was top notch. We had everything we needed and communication with Rein and Ben was excellent. If we ever return to the Netherlands we will definitely stay here again."

"We loved our stay here. The guesthouse was very clean and shows exactly as the pictures online. Fred and Kelli are great hosts—lots of communication but also don’t bother you. 8 min from the train, number of restaurants within 5-10 walk (try Kathmandu) as well as two grocery stores. We enjoyed our week, travelling into Amsterdam (20 min by train) as well as other nearby towns. Very convenient. We will definitely stay here again on our future trips to Amsterdam"

"For some reason my room card (room 413) wouldn't work on the 3rd evening, which was a problem as it was after 10.30 in the evening, and i was a single 69 year old traveller. I returned to reception and the card was reset, i returned again to the 4th floor to find it still wasn't working. A member of staff then escorted me to the access door on the 4th floor to ensure it worked the 3rd time."

"My stay was fantastic! The location was amazing, and the staff was friendly. I opted out of the breakfast, which was a mistake. I ended up adding it on later. I thought that I would be able to grab something at a local café, but nothing opened until around 10am. This could’ve been because of the time of year I went. "We loved everything about this hotel. The facility itself is well kept, modern, clean, with easy access to restaurants, tram & an exceptional staff as well. The Viking staff is also stationed here, which provides an extra service to those doing a pre cruise stay in Amsterdam. We would def stay here, again. "

"Super convenient hotel - walk to the main city area is aboht 20 minutes. Water provided in the room and free breakfast that was great! Our room (209) was pretty tucked away so it was super quiet and ideal. The only thing I didn’t like was having to leave our key with the front desk every time we left and when we got back they never checked ID. "

Tulip time in Amsterdam.

"Spent a lovely 4 nights at The Lancaster. Staff were friendly from the moment we arrived. Our room was spacious and bed super comfortable. Bathroom was a little dark but only downside. Staff were able to offer dinner recommendations which were great on both occasions. Tram stop nearby and across the road from the zoo. We walked all over the neighbourhood in all directions and felt very safe. If you walk behind the zoo you are able to see flamingos, elephants, zebras and lions. Was a fun time exploring. Would recommend. "
