"Contrary to some other reviews we (2 adults+dog) found the Linton to be very pleasant and convenient. The room was clean (although the carpet could do with a bit of tlc), and you like to see and hear trains going past (we do!) then this is the place for you. The room was big enough to move around in and place a dog bed in. The only downside was the weak shower - as other reviewers have also mentioned. The cooked breakfast was very good, using high quality ingredients, and catering for a veggie and a meat-eater equally. For £90 per night in this part of the world it was great value. Would definitely come back."

"Greeted very warmly upon arrival, the room itself was spotlessly clean and fairly large with a very modern ensuite. The owner was very kind and personable. We really enjoyed staying here, the property is lovely and well maintained. The location is ideal, very closely located to shops, as well as the beach. The bus stop into the city centre is located right outside the property making it very easily accessible. Would definitely recommend others to stay here, thank you!"

"I arrived very late. The staff were so friendly, and upgraded me from a single to a double room, I think because the single had gone to someone else. The bed was super comfy, I've never slept in a hotel room with such a comfy mattress before. The room was a bit run down, but clean enough. The breakfast was very basic, but good enough, and again the staff were very kind and helpful offering cups of tea or coffee. Very impressed for a two star hotel at the price I paid"

"No reception desk so had to wander about until we got key from behind the bar which doubles up as reception. On leaving you put your key in a box outside the bedrooms and you don't aee anyone. Check out is 10am which is very unusual. Food was good. Quiz night (Thursday) noisy until 11pm."
