It was a cute place, and kitchen areas stocked well. The air conditioning was not great. It’s an obvious problem as there was a portable unit in the loft, but it didn’t work well either. Lots of bugs inside and outside of cabin.

Not Quite What We Expected
The cabin is located outside of Duchesne in a quiet area. There are other cabins in the area but they are pretty spread out so it's pretty private. The check-in process was pretty easy except for having to send pics of every room to the host (same at checkout). I've stayed in many VRBOs and that is a first.
The cabin is pretty old and somewhat rundown and it didn't feel very clean when we got there. My wife had to pick up some Clorox wipes and wipe down the kitchen before we used it. That may have just been our perception because things are old. The kitchen and main level living room are pretty small. If you put 6 people around the table there isn't room for much more in the kitchen. Based on the description of it being great for large groups we thought there would be more room. There's no grill.
There were a lot of bugs downstairs, especially in the evening. The were several visible bugs on the walls and moths flying around the room when we sent the kids down for bed. They got kind of freaked out and ended up slamming in upstairs to sleep. We didn't have the same problem upstairs so there must be some cracks around doors or windows where the bugs could get in downstairs. We asked for a refund for the lower part of the cabin since we couldn't use it (the upper and lower are booked separately) but we didn't get it.
Overall it wasn't terrible, but it certainly wasn't great. Next time we're in the area we'll look for somewhere to stay other than Abuelo's Cabin.
Had a family reunion and rented out both the main cabin and the basement apartment. The property had plenty of areas to park both cars and boats/trailers. Kind of interesting that the only way to go from the main house to the basement apartment is to go outside. This made it tough to not drag in sand and dirt but was only a minor concern. The kitchens aren’t well stocked so I’d recommend bringing a few pots, a frying pan and other cooking items just in case. The kids LOVED the slide out front and spent hours and hours on it every day. A good landing spot for a large group to utilize Starvation Reservoir as it’s an easy drive from the cabin. Overall a good experience and we’re glad for the family memories the property gave our family.
