"I had a very disappointing experience at Golden Host Resort and would not recommend staying here. The condition of the room was unacceptable—there were cigarette burn holes, dirty floors, stained walls, and filthy baseboards that clearly hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. The sink was clogged, the fridge didn’t work properly, and to make matters worse, the door lock was broken, which felt extremely unsafe. The outside areas were just as bad. The pool was green and scummy, and the surrounding area was littered with cigarette butts, making it unpleasant to even sit nearby. Overall, the property is poorly maintained and far below basic cleanliness and safety standards. Definitely not worth the stay."

"We enjoyed the clean room and the friendly staff. The outdoor pool was very nice and a good size. The breakfast is a huge plus. we thought the rooms were a good size. We wish they had at least small balconies,vanity tops in the bathrooms to allow for more storage and placement of necessities. Pedestal sinks while a nice touch allow for zero storage. I think all toilets should have a lid."

"Small room, the bed was hard as a rock, there was a large gap between the door & frame that could have let bugs, snakes & humidity in. The pillow was either very old or very cheap, they have no form at all, even after we doubled them. The simple continental breakfast was no more than a few small muffins & some bagels."

"Needed lunch but restaurant wasn’t available until 1pm-sorta odd. Having a comfortable upholstered chair would make the rooms better. I got tired of sitting on the bed!"

"The resort has great beach access with lots of things to do. Our room was generally clean, but there were areas that appeared had not been cleaned in a very long time, such as the A/C return vent and places like the top of the thermostat; these were filthy. Housekeeping is upon request, although one time they came in without a request. The one time we did make a request for additional coffee, our request was never fulfilled. The front desk, restaurant and bar staff are very good. However, none of the other site staff seem to understand English which makes communicating nearly impossible. When housekeeping was near we request toilet paper and Kleenex. The housekeeper had no idea what we were talking about and we had to play charades to get what we needed. Another significant issue was the elevator near our room. It was very slow and several times during our stay it was closed for service. This was the case when we were checking out and ended up having to carry our luggage down the stairs. Overall the the resort is nice, but for the price we will probably explore alternatives for our next visit. "

"This was our third time at this property. They did a great job recovering from the hurricane and everything looks great. The staff at this property is amazing and the food is great. "

"Room didn't overlook the beach it overlooked the parking lot. Housekeeping was minimal at best. Restaurant was closed remodel ????? It was mid all the way around"
