My partners and I had the most accommodating stay at this place. The staff was very good and the breakfast provided everyday was excellent. The location was useful as it was a 10 minute walk to the centre and promenade and had good ties to get around the island.

Room was tidied ,bin emptied daily. I used a shared bathroom which was cleaned regularly. Breakfast was brilliant, great variety of cereal and cooked breakfast if needed . It was just a base to explore the island so it was adequate.

My Mom and I had a lovely stay at Melrose Guest House. The owner was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the stay feel very comfortable from the moment we arrived. Breakfast was great, with a good selection and a nice start to each day. The location was also a big plus. It was very convenient for using public transportation, making it easy to get around the Isle of Man without needing a car. Overall, a comfortable and welcoming place to stay, and we would happily stay here again!

Great welcome from the helpful and friendly host. Our little room was well equipped, adequate and the shower was lovely. Breakfast was good. Manx kippers weren't on the menu but when my husband asked for them, he got them the next day. There's a nice little seating area at the front of the building, pleasant to sit in the evenings. It's a Victorian property and there are a lot of stairs! We're elderly and struggled a bit, but we wouldn't have noticed then if we were younger.

A very lovely guesthouse with an even lovelier host. Peter is such a kind-hearted man, keen on making your stay as comfortable as possible. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay there again!

Clean room, very friendly service with essy check in at the guesthouse, full english breakfast everyday with cereal choices and juice available. Location is very central, walkable distance to the ferry station, bus stop and the city centre.

Melrose Guest House

Excellent value compared to others, very clean, ample breakfast. Patrons very polite and helpful, central location in a quiet area was a bonus, really nice room that had recently been refurbished with private bathroom, hope to be back again soon.

We didnt end up staying here. We left your hotel due to the appearance and safety of the room and property. The room was filthy with stains, mold, and paint peeling. The water pot was rusty inside. There was a scaffolding outside of the window and when we grabbed our luggage to leave someone was going down the scaffolding with a bag. It is not a good place. We have never seen a place with the room so bad.

Good location up a small hill from town centre, Friendly Owner/Staff, wish it was en-suite but the rest great, good hearty breakfast, fast friendly service.

This is the second time we have stayed there. Peter, the host, was very accommodating even changing our room to the one that we stayed in before. The breakfast is very good and sets you up for the day. It’s a very short walk to the shops from the guest house.

Made to feel very welcome, lovely room, very clean, great breakfast, good location to base ourselves. Handy for shops and promenade. Would definitely stay at the Melrose again.

Peter, the owner, can't do enough for you...just wants to make sure you are happy and comfortable. His knowledge of His island is immeasurable...obviously loves where he lives and instills a want on you to visit it all, we will be coming back to do just that 😉

Heel fijn guesthouse. De eigenaar is vriendelijk en behulpzaam, goed ontbijt! Het is wel een stukje de heuvel op en het guesthouse zelf heeft geen lift. Het ligt vlakbij het centrum en bushaltes. Heerlijke dagen gehad!

Vänligt bemötande, helt ok rum men ingen sällskapsyta. Hade varit önskvärt med en loungeytrymme. Rätt smårum och trångt. Värden är vänlig och hjälpsam.
