Castle View House, stunning period property.

Castle View House is situated in a peaceful setting under the shadow of the 16th centuary Doonagore Castle and 5mns walk from Doolin Village. Right at the start of The Cliffs of Moher Walking Trail you will be ideally placed to tour the famous Burren and The Aran Islands as well as The Cliffs of Moher.
The house was built by ancestors of the current owners in the 1870's and was sensetively renovated and restored four years ago and is now a warm comfortable space with oil fuelled central heating throughout, it is a great place to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
There are four large double bedrooms, all with stunning countryside and cliff views through the large windows. Two bedroom are ensuite and the other two share an adjoining bathroom.
Downstairs there are three large reception rooms, a formal dining room with views to Doonagore Castle, a large stately drawing room with an outlook of Doonagore Castle and The Cliffs of Moher. Both rooms feature wood burning stoves for cosy evenings in.
A large country style kitchen fully equipped with all mod cons with a fantastic enclosed cooker in a stone archway completes the living space where you can gather around the large kitchen table enjoying views of cows grazing just outside.
If you care to venture out take a walk to Doolin Village just 5mns down the road where you will find pubs, cafes, an hotel and several craft shops, 10mns away catch a ferry with regurlar service to The Aran Islands.
You will want to return again and again to Castle View House when you have been captivated by it's peace and tranquility.

Wonderful spot to explore County Clare

Our group had a wonderful time at the Castle View House. It was well equipped with everything we needed. Sally was a very responsive and gracious host. Also, we could easily walk down to some of the shops and a pub so a great spot.

Surpassed all expectations

What a delightful accommodation at the cliffs of Moher. Walking distance to central Doolin. Hiking starts at the property. Perfect view of castle. Home was so comfortable and well appointed. Stayed for nearly a week and hated to leave.

Great Location & Views

Great views and location! Spacious and we didnt even use all the rooms! They also have livestock and we were able to see a new born calf halfway thru our stay. Communicating was easy and house is emaculate. She provides some staple foods as well like brown bread, orange juice, milk and butter. Great place!

Amazing Property / Great Location

Everything was as advertised. Sally was a great host. The house was perfect for four adults and four kids. We enjoyed hiking along the cliffs and taking a tour of the Doolin Cave. Best place to stay in or around Doolin.

Fabulous stay at Castle View

My husband, 3 children and I had a wonderful stay at Castle View. Sally is a lovely host and very accommodating. The property is exactly as pictured and described and overall Doolin exceeded our expectations. Castle View provided us with the unique element of being partially immersed in the Irish culture.

Beautiful property. Location was great for visiting all the major sights in Co Clare. House was perfect in every way. So much space and really well decorated and appointed. Everything was provided down to some grocery basics on our arrival.

Pristine home with great views!

Castle View House was pristine! We all loved watching the cows from our windows and walking around the beautiful property. The house was very well stocked with all that we could need to cook a few meals and take care of the family on vacation. Our host, Sally, left us bread, milk, eggs and some essentials to get us started upon arrival. We felt very welcomed and comfortable!

A Very Relaxing Getaway

The home is beautiful, clean, and situated in the perfect location. On one side of the home you can see the Atlantic waves crashing against the rock and on the other side you have rolling hills and a view of the Doonagore Castle. It is spacious, updated, and the hosts were very friendly. They even greeted us with food and snacks already in the pantry. It was a very relaxing getaway and wish we could have stayed longer!

Wind down and relax

A beautiful home in a fantastic location to wind down and relax and loose all the stresses of life. Just a step away from the restaurants, traditional live music and great fun pitch and putt course all of which we enjoyed several times during the week. A great location for exploring the cliffs and Burren with a beautiful beach at Fanore for swimming and nesting sandmartins. Thank you for the best holiday. What a place to live!

Amazing location and so cozy

This was a great location for us as we wanted to experience the beauty of the cliffs outside of the every day tourist section. The house was a great size. Sally and her family are in the adjoining front section and she let us in to show us around and explain the workings of the house. The recycling/rubbish information was quite extensive and you are expected to take all bottles to the recycling station behind a local pub as well as separate general rubbish with plastic recycling and food scraps additionally. You are also asked to clean some areas and floors of the house but you are not charged a cleaning fee so we felt this was fair. All in all a great stay.

Castleview

Absolutely, stunning! We were in Doolin for my daughters wedding on the Cliffs, Castleview was a perfect location. Sally and her family were awesome host. The house was beautifully maintained and had stunning views. We actually had our first wedding photos taken there. Castle View House - family vacation

Our stay at Castle View House was spectacular. With cows looking right into the kitchen window and the northern part of the Cliffs of Moher trail at the end of the driveway along with the Aran Islands visible out in the ocean as well, we could not have asked for a better location. The house is roomy, beautiful and well laid out for our family of 8 with two toddlers. Sally was just a tremendous help before and during our stay. What a pleasant and accommodating host. Outstanding Home-Away-From-Home

Our family traveled to Ireland for a wedding and our stay in Doolin, County Clare at the Castle View House indeed became our Home-Away-From-Home. This elegant and incredibly appointed home on the cliffs of Doolin simply took our breath away. The view out of each and every widow will not soon be forgotten. Spotless and completely renovated, we wanted for nothing and longed to not be leaving upon our departure. Sally and her family were the perfect hosts and we will always remember our stay at Castle View as one of the best family vacations we have ever had.

Beauty on the Beaten Trail

We walked by the house a number of times as we took the hike from Doolin to the Cliffs and back, always thinking how nice it would be to be staying there to end our walk. So, we booked. It did not disappoint. The owner is lovely, the check-in/out a breeze and the home has everything and more than you will need for a lovely stay. Kitchen is well provided (we cooked) rooms are inviting and the beds very comfortable. Plus, you can walk into town! Take the ferry to an Aran Island. Don't just go to O'Connor's Pub, take the stroll down to McDermott's and McGann's. Good music down there, too! Stay here! You will be glad you made the choice!

Perfect Place

This property is truly unbelievable! Before you even enter the home you know you are somewhere magical. My children didn't even make it out of the car before they spotted the cows that live on site - a definite highlight for sure! The rental is incredible - every detail thought of. From the well stocked kitchen, the games cupboard, the linens and toiletries, everything is ready for you to relax and enjoy the splendours of County Clare. We loved the house so much - a space for everyone and we just adored the grand feeling of each room (the window seats will be missed once home). Sally was so welcoming and such a wonderful host - cannot give enough praise! We highly recommend McDermott's Pub and Doolin Cave! And if you are up for a culinary delight then pop up to Homestead Cottage for an unreal tasting experience.

Sisters Dream Trip

We are five middle aged sisters traveling together for the first time, just us girls. We treated ourselves to this beautiful home close to Doolin, where our ancestors were from; they probably walked past this house many times. Anyway, the house was roomy, beautifully updated, yet full of antique charm. An elegant place to come home to, yet just up the hill from our new favorite places: McGanns and McDermotts pubs. Great food, music and service. Also, there are the loveliest cows just outside the window. The views are spectacular, right along the cliff walk, which we also enjoyed. Sally was wonderful to work with, very helpful, kind, and prompt to reply to our questions. She even stocked the fridge for us which was so helpful and welcoming. We all really enjoyed staying at her beautiful, one of a kind home.

Gorgeous Property!

Renting homes outside the USA can be pretty daunting. Fortunately, for our group of 6, we lucked out on this getaway home in Doolin Ireland. Our hostess could not have been lovelier - a loaf of freshly baked bread & a bottle of wine were awaiting us in the fabulous kitchen. A light breakfast was already purchased and in the refrigerator. The home was so large & spacious - all 4 bedrooms were lovely. Newly updated kitchen & 4 bathrooms. The property is perfectly situated within walking distance of the lovely town of Doolin and the spectacular Cliffs of Moher. Pubs in Doolin served wonderful food. Lots of nearby activities include a ferry ride to the Aran Islands and an incredible cliff walk with the equally spectacular Pat Sweeney. You’ll have the experience of a lifetime at this fabulous property. Guaranteed! Would head back tomorrow if I could!

Perfect Family House in Incredible Location

Our stay at the Castle View House was nothing short of amazing. The property location is as good as you can get, with incredible views of the Cliffs of Moher as well as the surrounding farmland and castle. We were a short walk away from town, and enjoyed all of the pub and restaurant recommendations that Sally provided. Sally was as accommodating a host as we could have hoped for. Traveling with our 4 year old and ~2 year old, finding a place to accommodate us is not always easy. Sally provided a high chair, crib, and toys for our girls, and the kids loved every minute of their stay. Having a jug of milk and some fresh eggs also helped us transition from our time in Dublin to our time in the countryside, as we didn't have to worry about groceries the first day we arrived. I cannot express enough gratitude to Sally and her family as we enjoyed one of the best vacations we've had as a family, in part because of the comfort and hospitality of our hosts in Doolin. A true 10/10 stay that we hope to have the opportunity to take again. Thank you so much, Sally!

Beautiful home with stunning views

The Castle View House has it all. It has the charm and history of an old country farmhouse but with all modern amenities. It was amazing waking up every morning to a view of the cliffs and ocean. We cooked big Irish breakfasts in the huge kitchen to kick off each day followed by a walk along the Cliffs of Moher walking trail which literally begins at the end of the property's driveway. The home was immaculate and very comfortable. All hardwoods and tile. There is a lot to see within driving distance from Doolin. We took day trips to Galway, the Aran Islands, Cliffs of Moher and explored nearby towns. There is also a fun pitch and putt golf course in town with gorgeous views of the cliffs and ocean. Can't forget the pubs and traditional Irish music every night. Many are within walking distance. The owners are very pleasant and responsive. The Castle View House made this our favorite vacation off all time. It felt like home and we miss it already.
