Amazing house! Highly recommend!

We absolutely loved our stay in. The house is amazing! Having five bedrooms really makes it convenient for a bigger family to avoid trying to figure out who’s rooming with who.The property is beautiful, the house is beautiful, and the pool was perfect and great for cooling off or having family time in the evening with the large table next to the pool.

Amazing location.

House and pool were amazing. Views spectacular as was the location. Make sure you do have a 44 vehicle. We did not and the all wheel drive barely made it up the mountain.

road was a little rough but was graded after a few days so 4 wheel is needed ..some steep inclines but remember you are at a higher elevation the drive is worth it .....Dell the owner was a great help has a 4 wheel drive at the property for rent.. also can make arrangements to pick your party at san jose airport and trans back too..he is worth talking with as he is very helpfull any plans you may have....

Puntarenas Paradise

Absolutely amazing stay at Del Congos. Del, Patty and our host Adrian were treasures in so many ways. We have never been better accommodated. Adrian speaks beautiful English and was a wealth of information and a perfect Tico ambassador. The property is stunning. Comfortable, huge kitchen, bedrooms were thoughtfully designed to maximize air flow and comfort during the night.The pool with the slide and view of the famous "Whale's Tail" was incredible.Del and Patty arrived mid-week to start a stay at one of their adjacent properties. They were wonderful, warm, friendly and another great local resource. Del even helped me find a fairly large quantity of my favourite coffee from a local plantation. Amazing Jungle Getaway!

Wonderful!

Had an absolutely wonderful time staying at Del's place. The house is beautiful and the kitchen well stocked for anyone wishing to prepare meals. The view of the Whale Tail from the second floor master bedroom is spectacular and Adrian the care taker is so helpful. The drive up the mountain as others have mentioned is interesting but definitely worth it! Will definitely stay again next time in the Uvita area!

Great time

We had a great time and the house was perfect for our family vacation. Edgar was wonderful, friendly and helpful. The road to the property is intense as other reviews indicated but the view is spectacular. Uvita is a beautiful place to visit!

Excellent property with friendly onsite caretakers who went the extra mile to make sure we felt welcome and comfortable. The owner is engaging and wants to help you have a great experience. We took two excursions he recommended and had fantastic experiences. Highly recommend.

Pura Vida!

This was our fifth trip to the same area in Costa Rica. Access to this property was a bit of a challenge with our four wheel drive rental, but a very comfortable home with a nice ocean view. The caretakers on the property were awesome people and very helpful. Looking forward to our visit next year!

Awesome view and amazing pool!

The location of this house is simply amazing. We woke our first morning to a barrel of monkeys in the trees outside our bedroom windows. The view down the mountain is even better when viewed from floating in the infinity pool. Thank you Del, for sharing your home with us.

Just book it!

You found it! Just book it! Everything was amazing! The view down is as good as the listing says. The pool and back patio area are perfect for relaxing while at the house. Uvita and Dominical are nice small towns with great grocery stores. The national park service beaches in Uvita are great natural beaches. The host was very helpful and offered anything we needed. We would definitely stay here again!!

What a View!

We were a group of three adult females visiting Costa Rica for the first time. The house, property and pool are beautiful. I highly suggest allowing Del to schedule your transportation and excursions. All were flawless. The transportation to and from the airport was worth every penny. Don't be intimidated by the driveway. We rented the car from Del and once Adrian showed us how to navigate the driveway, it was no problem at all, even in the rain and dark. We saw lots of birds, had daily visits from agouti and coatimundi that we enjoyed watching.

Great views and privacy in the jungle !

We had a great time with our family of 4 in this fantastic home. Home is private, had great views and is well equipped. Del rented us his vehicle which saves time at the airport and was very capable for the road adventure of ascending and descending the mountain. Del also arranged a round trip transportation to and from the airport in San Jose which was convenient. The driver (Gilbert) was very personable and stopped at points that were safe and had facilities for us. We had a great trip and are looking forward to returning!

Great Uvita vacation

Del the owner made everything easy from start to finish. Communication was timely and renting his 4x4 was great, as it is definitely necessary to get around. He even made tour reservations for us at our request ahead of our trip! From zip lining, to Corcovado, to Nuyaca Waterfall all tours were outstanding. Everything about the house was first rate, from the million dollar view of the whale’s tail, to the beautiful pool. Best of all, Alex and Estafani catered to our every need, from daily laundry and cleaning to cooking us 2 wonderful Costa Rican dinners. All together a wonderful stay. Pura Vida!

Exactly What We Were Looking For

This house outside of Uvita is exactly as advertised.. It is out of the way and the drive is not too challenging if you have a good 4 - wheel drive vehicle. The interior is roomy and well furnished. The pool area and the view it provides is fantastic! The caretakers, Alex and Estephany were very friendly and helpful. The only minor negative we encountered was that the lighting in the bathrooms combined with the very small mirrors made it difficult for the ladies to do what the do. Over all our experience here was nothing but positive. Would we stay here again? We certainly would.

Del Congos is breathtaking!

We had a terrific stay at Del Congos and words can't describe the beauty and gorgeous views surrounding the property! Our two kids ages 9 and 7 spent many hours playing in the pool and using the gorgeous waterslide (and parents too!). We also enjoyed many meals outside near the pool and lounging or reading books in the hammock. We had an amazing time on several tours that Del recommended including horseback riding at Rancho La Merced, a visit by boat to beautiful Corcovado National Park (saw 2 pumas, countless monkeys, wild pigs, a tapir, scarlet macaws, toucans, crocodiles, among many other jungle flora and fauna), and last but not least a mangrove tour out of Sierpe (we saw many crocs, birds, iguanas, a boa hanging out in a tree over the river, and monkeys galore). Del was very instrumental in helping us choose these wonderful activities and guiding us away from overly touristy places which we wanted to avoid. We recommend renting one of Del's personal cars as it was so important to have a solid 4WD vehicle to navigate the road to Del Congos and I don't think the airport rentals would be quite as powerful. The house is amazing and Adrian, the caretaker, is extremely nice and helpful. We highly recommend a trip to Del Congos in Uvita and take Del up on all his recommendations! Don't hesitate, just book it!

We Shall Return

We recently returned from our Honeymoon and had the best time at Del Congos. The property is absolutely breathtaking and the views are AMAZING! We receieved outstanding service from the property care takers and enjoyed getting to know Deigo and his family during our stay. During our stay we enjoyed exploring the area and had an amazing day deep sea fishing. After a successful day on the water, we took our fresh catch to "Exotica," a French Restaurant that was like no other. Another dining experience that we still talk about to this day, was our night at "Casa de Angel." This is a resort that is about a ten minute drive from the property. We liked it so much that we went back for dinner on our last night. We enjoyed being surrounded by such beautiful wildlife and we look forward to our next visit to Del Congos!

Amazing property

This house was a slice of heaven!! You really felt as if you were living in an oasis in the middle of the jungle/rain forest. The views are breathtaking of the whale tail. My son loved the pool slide!! We even took a little family hike during our stay to take in our surroundings. The lights did go out our last night while I was cooking, but thank goodness there was a bbq pit and my hubby finished cooking our dinner… That was the only challenge but that’s normal in Costa Rica. The other challenge was getting to the property, but we called the owner and he had Alex meet up with us to guide us the rest of the way… After the first day my hubby knew his way up and down the mountain and around town. My family and I will definitely be back..

The best of the best

Renting this villa is and was one of the best vacation experiences I have been able to share with my family. Can't say enough about the ambience, location and accomodations to make this such a memorable trip. On site support staff was excellent, helpful and available. What a paradise of sight and sound! For those who like being off the beaten path, this is the place to be. All the activity and dining recommendations were spot on. Spectacular sunsets are the norm and the food choices worth a little travel. La Parcela, Hacinda Baru, Marina Bellina, the list goes on for all the things to do. My family is already clamoring for a return trip. I would recommend this property unreservedly! I know reviews like this are hard to believe but all I can say is you have to experience it because some things are hard to put into words. PS. I do have the pictures to prove it!

As gorgeous as advertised!

The property is as advertised! Exquisite views from everywhere on the property. We visited during the Costa Rican winter and the changes in weather and clouds added to the seclusion and beauty of the property. The yard and house are kept sculptured and clean by Alex and Stephany who will do anything to make your stay more enjoyable. Del is a pleasure to work with and very accommodating. The mountain path to the house is quite an experience.Not for the faint of heart! Rent Del's truck to avoid losing a rental car! Uvita is a small town but it is located in the middle of the Pacific Coast that offers you whatever adventure or experience you may be looking for.We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Del Congo Uvita and were quite impressed by the number of locals and establishments that were familiar with the property and Del the owner. It was a fantastic vacation filled with gorgeous landscapes and beaches and memories that will last a lifetime. Thanks Del Alex & Stephany

Family vacation

Second time staying in Uvita - this time with our boys, ages 12 and 17. Del's property is a beautiful paradise respite. Do beware, power outages can be a slight hinderance. It's par for the course up in those hills. We had several, mostly in the evening, and lasting a few hours. However, we were not deterred! Candles and a gas grill made all the difference. We were able to cook and clean and enjoy the night time jungle sights (lots of fireflies) and sounds without worry. Adrian, the property manager, lives on site just a stone's throw from the casa. He was always quick to check in and keep us posted. He's also very friendly and courteous and prompt when you need help with anything. We enjoyed walking the property grounds with him and learning more about the area. Additionally, Del was VERY helpful with booking tours for us and checking in to make sure we were enjoying our stay... And, as many others have commented - the road is steep, but with the right vehicle, you won't have any issues. The only regret from our 17 year old son was that he couldn't drive it himself (due to his age and rental car rules). :) Overall, we loved our time there. Pura vida!
