"If not for the train disruption, my stay at Duran Hostel would have been perfect! The small room was a perfect fit for a solo traveler. It takes 25 minutes to walk from the station to the hostel because it is uphill, and around 15 minutes to return to the station downhill; this was perfectly suitable for me as I enjoy walking. The town is beautiful with a warm, friendly neighborhood, and you can sit at LA SEDE to watch the clouds drift by while enjoying Spanish red wine. The hostel staff are helpful and friendly, and I would definitely recommend their single rooms to any solo traveler. I was pleasantly surprised to find a powerful shower and a bathtub. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I have no complaints about the decor, as it is a hostel after all! However, the train disruption made my journey quite difficult. There were limited trains from Málaga Central to Álora, but I was aware of this before I made my booking and had planned well in advance. Unfortunately, the train terminated at Cártama, and I needed to take a replacement bus, which turned a half-hour journey into an hour. Even more unfortunately, the train to El Chorro was also cancelled, and the replacement bus departure time was too late for me to start my adventure at the Caminito del Rey. I want to take this opportunity to thank the Renfe staff; without their help, I don't think I could have completed my journey. Renfe even arranged a taxi to take me to El Chorro so that I wouldn't miss my adventu"

"The hotel is lovely and the owners are friendly and helpful. The pool is beautiful and a great place to relax. Breakfast was good quality. The hotel is walking distance from the station, and a good base for hiking and exploring Álora. Food is available in the evening and there is a bar service with a good selection of drinks. We enjoyed our stay and intend to return. Would highly recommend."

"Absolutely beautiful villa in amazing location. Loved the privacy of the pool. Enjoyed watching the sunset every night with a cup of tea , either on the roof top or other seating outside, so many different options to sit and enjoy the beautiful view.Big shopping market 5 mins drive away. Host Allan was extremely helpful and very welcoming. Fast response’s to any queries, Joan was also great. Would love to stay here again in the future, longer than 8 nights next time. Highly recommended "

"Wir waren mit drei Familien in der wunderschönen, gepflegten Villa in der Nähe von Alhaurín el Grande. Das Haus ist wunderschön eingerichtet, perfekt sauber und mit allem ausgestattet, was man sich wünschen kann. Die schattige Terrasse ist perfekt für gemeinsame Mahlzeiten, die Outdoor-Küche mit Grill lädt zu gemütlichen Abenden unter dem unglaublichen Olivenbaum ein. Alles ist noch schöner, als es auf den Bildern wirkt. Die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich und perfekt in der Kommunikation. Wir hatten eine wunderbare Zeit und empfehlen das Haus sehr gerne weiter."

"This is an excellent base for a large group or multi generational family to spend time near Malaga. It is spacious, the beds are very comfortable, all the bedrooms have air conditioning, the large heated pool is brilliant, and there are lots of things to keep everyone occupied. Plenty of sunbeds, shade for those who need it, beautiful grounds, a pool table, and of course the wonderful chickens and fresh eggs every day! Miguel and Maricarmen are amazing hosts, so kind and attentive, and ready to help with any problems that may arise.We had a great week and would love to return again in future."
