"The hotel was easy to find and had everything we needed on site or nearby. The staff were so friendly and amazingly helpful. I booked a Superior room which was huge with a large bed and lovely bathroom....but, after an hour or so of being in the room, we realised that the door next to the bed was actually an interconnecting door to the next room. We could hear EVERYTHING the couple next door were up to. I did go to reception, and they were very helpful and accommodating and upgraded us to a Privilege room on the next floor, so I really cannot fault the staff at all.
This room even had a partial track view and a mini fridge and loads of extras. Unfortunately later that night we realised that the walls in this room were paper thin, and we spent an hour and a half listening to man having a conversation on his phone. I probably wouldn't stay again, or recommend this hotel, as there is obviously no soundproofing on any of the rooms. For what they cost, you would expect this as standard to ensure privacy and peace for everyone. The parking is also quite expensive. £20.00 for 2 cars for the night. I understand that they must get a lot of people trying to park for the track, but other Mercure Hotels include parking, and all you have to do is add your vehicle reg to validate. So unfortunately cannot recommend this hotel."
