"What a hidden gem! We stayed in the beach cabin, which we found to be surprisingly roomy, rustic (in the very best sense), fully equipped, and spotless. Our hosts were quick to respond to any questions. Our favorite part, however, was the location: Rainy Lake on your doorstep, a great beach, and the enchanting Northern Bush all around. "We got there early so our glamping tent wasn't ready yet so had to wait a short time. He had us in earlier than we were supposed to be. The tent we got was phenomenal huge with everything we could ask for from power to heat. We got out wood bundle and that was perfectly sized for the night. From the most friendly owner to the impecable grounds this a must visit placeplace is bucket list worthy!! We will be"

"Our family of 6 (kids ages 3-18) had a wonderful stay at the Citadel. The owner, Grahame, answered all of our questions and was more than accommodating during our stay. The Citadel is tucked away down a short gravel road and the view can’t be beat. Watching the sunrise with a cup of coffee is a must. We went to Nestor Falls to fish, so we took our boat the short 7 min drive to Lake of the Woods for some great walleye and Northern fishing, and ended each day at the Citadel. Our kids LOVED the...

"This cabin was clean and well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. The views were incredible and having our own private dock to swim in the crystal clear water was perfect. The multiple decks were great for enjoying the outdoors. The fire pit area was very quaint with string lights with the lake on one side and a beautiful rock outcrop on the other side. Would definitely recommend this cabin!"

"This was the best vacation and just what we needed! Grahame is a terrific host, the cabin so cute with everything you would need and the amenties and lake are great for fishing or just going for a cruise in the boat. Highly recommend!"

"This was located on a part of the lake we hadn’t fished yet so we were excited to check it out. The property was beautiful and exactly as advertised. It was clean and communication with the host was great. This is their family cabin so we appreciated them letting us use it. There is a bit of a hill to walk up in case you have anyone in your party with mobility restrictions, it might be tough. Overall great. Definitely watch for rocks on this part of the lake. Great place and protected cove

"Our fishing group chose this cabin for our annual Fishing trip and we were very satisfied with the location and amenities. The dock can hold two full-size boats. There’s power located right next to the dock in a shed. Hosts were very friendly and were accommodating to questions that we had. Would definitely recommend going back to this location."

"The room was clean and comfortable with a nice patio overlooking the water. We had a snafu at check in when we were assigned to a non-dog room but I had booked for 2 adults and 2 dogs. The young lady at the desk was super helpful and got us into a great room on the first floor near a door. We were only there for one night but I would definitely return for multiple nights if we are in the area again. "

Twin Oaks Lodge on the Lake of the Woods

Fishing Trip

"Just stayed at Twin Oaks with some buddies for a fishing trip. Great cabin. Very clean and nice. So nice to be able to put in and take the boats out right there. Fishing was great as well. There's a decent chance we will be back. Only complaint was the water pressure could run low and sometimes, just shut off for a short time. Made showers interesting a couple times, but some of that is to be expected off the beaten path. I did not meet Sarah, but she was extremely timely with reponses to any questions or concerns which was very appreciated. 5 stars "

"I was very pleased with this Super 8. The front staff was welcoming and prompt. The hotel itself was very clean and well kept. We decided to leave a day early and the management couldn't have been more gracious and didn't charge us for the last day. We were able to park our boat and truck very easily and even plug the boat electrical into the wall socket on the hotel. How nice is that! Thank you so much Super8 Windham in Fort Frances, Ontario!!"
