"Had a very enjoyable stay at the Casa Valeria while in Sosua. Staff was very friendly and always greeted me. The room was done up daily and always looked fresh. The towels inside are apparently only for showering, however when she saw the need, the manager quickly brought me 2 beach towels to use for the pool and the beach. There was an issue for a couple of days with the key card not being able to open the door, but once the manager realized I was having issues, she immediately got a maintenance person on it. They ended up replacing the entire mechanism, and it worked great after that. The stay includes breakfast at the attached restaurant, but it's not the typical short list of options. It's whatever you want on the menu, including modifications to the menu item. The portions there are very generous and didn't leave you wanting more. Other meals satisfied as well. The hotel is basically in the core, so very short walking distance to not only the beaches, but also to restaurants and bars in the area. The only bad thing I experienced was the noise from the street, it never stops and it's loud, especially in the restaurant, however in my room I could hardly hear it (Main floor courtyard) Overall was a great experience and expect I will be going back at some point in time."

"A couple things: There are actually 2 resorts here, so make sure where you book your room. You WANT to be booked at Tropical beach, NOT Confresi beach. This wasnt clear when we booked, so we were shocked to see Confresi was our actual destination, because the photos in the listing shows rooms from Tropical. 1st Night: our Confresi room, 20412, was ROUGH! Black mold on the lamp between the 2 beds, and in the washroom there was har everywhere! We took videos and photos, even in the tub! Went to complain at 9pm, they said they would send someone to clean it. After an hour, no one came, so we went back, and were told to wait until just past 11pm before someone came, went with us to look, and then agreed that it was disgusting, and that we should get a new room, so he gave us one right there. On day 2, people called us for breakfast, offering to drive us to our buffet venue, which was followed by an offer for a couple hours tour, where they try and convince you to buy timeshares in their villas. So simply tell them you are not interested in the tour. They will hasle you for the first 3-4 days, everyday someone new, asking you if you have gone on the tour yet. Just tell them no, or tell them you already went, thank you... I highly recommend the Italian restaurant. The mexican Tex Mex was ok. The Buffet gets boring, so I would recommend the other available restaurants. Staff was only nice if you tipped them. "

"This resort only the pool club and food is good. Staff is ok. But I made a reservation with a king size bed and got a room with two full size beds when it was only me and my husband. Also the bar is too far from the pool. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. "
