Clean room, no damp smell at lift lobbies or corridors.

We had no idea what to expect as we booked last minute without doing any research nor looking at pictures. Also the name, One & Only Desaru, is somewhat non-descript, it doesn't evoke much... This is a 5-star resort, an oasis secluded from the world, large luxurious villas, private beaches and all -- and also, I guess, from paparazzis! That kind of a place. Top, top, top. Will return for sure.

Parking is far if you stay at the other end. Toilet is kinda small. Room for 4 pax, only have 1 hand towel and 3 bath towels and 2 pairs of bedroom shoes.

Japamala has a fun vibe and a great location. The food and drinks are also fantastic. It’s starting to show its age in places, but is good value for a relaxing break.

The place, the bungalows and the staff are very nice but the generator (frim the hotel next door) is making a terribe noice 24h/24h. Not possible to relax on yiur terrace and impossible to sleep at night
