"Very detailed check-in instructions and video for driving to villa. No welcome note or any instructions in the villa itself other than a bottle of Prosecco. The view of Lake Maggiore is stunning. The pool is delightful although the boarding around the pool is uneven and rotten in places and there is no cleaning net. The pool cleaning was poor, with lots of bugs. We had a power failure which the agent sorted quickly but clearly was a common problem. Tiny kitchen, inadequately equipped with crockery or utensils and only two gas burners working. A fridge that was hard to shut, very basic bath / shower. The dishwasher is useless and the washing machine has a plug that will not fit in any socket in the house.So, wonderful location but badly let down by a tired house and facilities, especially given the high rental. We hired both apartments. I would not want to have to share the grounds and pool with another family."
