About this property
40-Acre Secluded Lakefront Nolin Lake Estate
Escape to Timber Lake Lodge, a truly distinctive Nolin Lake lakefront retreat set on a gated, secluded 40-acre estate. Tucked at the end of a quiet cove, the property offers an extraordinary level of privacy that is increasingly rare on Nolin Lake. No neighboring homes are visible from the property, and directly across the water is undeveloped protected land with no buildings, so your views are of the lake, woods and nature rather than other vacation homes.
The six-bedroom timber-frame home and separate bunkhouse comfortably accommodate up to 20 guests and were designed specifically for large groups who want to spend time together without feeling crowded. With multiple living areas, generous gathering spaces, spectacular outdoor and indoor stone fireplaces, a chef's kitchen equipped for a crowd, and 40 acres to explore, Timber Lake Lodge is as much about the setting as it is about the house.
What Makes Timber Lake Lodge Different?
40 Acres of Secluded Property: A rare opportunity to enjoy an entire 40-acre lakefront estate rather than a typical lake house surrounded by neighboring vacation rentals.
Gated & No Visible Neighbors: Once you enter the gated property, the outside world feels miles away. No other homes are visible from the house, deck, property, or lakefront.
Undeveloped Land Across the Water: The property looks across the lake toward protected, undeveloped land with no buildings, preserving the peaceful natural setting.
A Quiet Cove with Little Boat Traffic: Located at the end of a cove, Timber Lake Lodge offers calm, peaceful water and a much more secluded lake experience than most areas of the lake.
Designed for Groups of 20: Six bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, multiple living areas, a large dining area, a chef's kitchen and separate bunkhouse give everyone room to gather—and room to spread out.
Exceptional Gathering Spaces: From the soaring great room and two-story cupola to the nearly 750-square-foot covered outdoor living area and stone fireplace, there are spaces throughout the property where the entire group can comfortably come together.
A Kitchen Truly Equipped for 20: This isn't a kitchen stocked for the average vacation rental, it is a true chef's kitchen. It has all the cookware, serving pieces, large and small appliances, dishes, glassware and pantry essentials needed to prepare and serve meals for a large group. Plus, there is a stand-alone ice maker!
Something for Everyone: Pool table, ping-pong, arcade with more than 1,000 games, board games, cards, toys, lake activities, hiking and plenty of space to simply relax.

The covered outdoor living area features a beautiful stone fireplace, gas grill with propane provided, outdoor dining table and comfortable seating. Gather around the fireplace after a day on the lake, enjoy dinner outdoors or simply sit back and listen to the sounds of nature. This is the place where groups naturally come together in the evening. An outdoor utility closet contains cornhole, and oversized Jenga, and a double hammock for the patio. A heavy-duty wagon makes it easy to transport beverages and supplies.
We also offer a golf cart for rent, just ask.
The Lake & 40-Acre Estate: The gentle sloping path from the house leads toward the lake and dock. A swim ladder provides easy access to the water. Spend your days swimming, canoeing, fishing or simply enjoying the peaceful surroundings. When you're ready to explore on land, put on your sneakers and hike through the 40-acre wooded estate. The secluded setting means you can enjoy a full day at the lake, an afternoon exploring the property, dinner on the covered deck and an evening around the outdoor fireplace—all without needing to leave the estate.
Comfort Matters: The entire home is outfitted with premium bed linens, down comforters, plush blankets and comfortable, supportive mattresses. Bathrooms feature soft 100% cotton towels. The house feels like a luxurious and beautiful vacation home—not a rental filled with the basics.
A Perfect Base for Nolin Lake & Mammoth Cave: Timber Lake Lodge is conveniently located within minutes of several boat ramps and marinas, including Dog Creek Boat Ramp, Wax Marina, Moutardier Marina and Ponderosa Marina. Mammoth Cave National Park is only nine miles away. For boat and jet ski rentals, we recommend Moutardier Marina and Wax Marina.
We're Here to Help: As longtime Superhosts, we understand that a great vacation rental experience begins before you arrive. We're happy to help with information about Nolin Lake, Mammoth Cave, hiking, mountain biking, catering, boat and watercraft rentals, area activities and attractions. Our goal is to make your stay at Timber Lake Lodge exceptional—from the moment you arrive at the gated entrance to the last evening around the outdoor fireplace.

Was a great place to get away with friends and family. Plenty of room and accommodations. The speaker system was amazing! Host answered any questions quickly. Would recommend it to anyone.
We had a great time. The accommodations were perfect! It was clean, had plenty of entertainment for all age groups, and the host responded to any questions very promptly.
I would highly recommend this place for large families.
Our family has stayed twice at this well appointed and quiet home. Plenty of room to spread out for activities or to just chill in the wrap around porch. We did the golf cart this year and highly recommend getting it if you plan on going down to the lake.
Our family of 6 adults and 4 children had a wonderful time at Timber Lake Lodge! We rented a pontoon boat at Wax Marina and fishing from the dock was very productive. We also grilled our dinners and made smores on the deck. The golf cart was great for going back and forth down to the dock. Everyone enjoyed staying at this beautiful place.
The house was amazing! Plenty of room and decorated perfectly. IT is clear a lot of thought has gone into making this cabin a fantastic experience for guests. We loved every minute of our stay. Also Kristin was incredibly communicative every step of the way and when a major storm hit the state just before our trip, she got things taken care of and kept us informed. The private dock is fantastic and the land is beautiful. Cannot recommend this cabin enough, we will be back!
This is a great property that can accommodate a larger group easily. The main house is very nice, some highlights were the well stocked kitchen, relaxing den area, and the back porch with a wood burning fireplace (and plenty of firewood available). The bunk house is better for kids than adults, though our adults managed just fine! WiFi worked pretty well for being so remote. The owner was friendly and communicative, and they left a bottle of red and white wine. Many thanks for hosting our group!
The lake house was perfect for our family of 19. Enough space that everyone had a spot to relax. Although Mother Nature did not cooperate, with all the rain before our arrival, causing us not to utilze the lake, we survived.
We enjoyed it being close to other activities in the area. Easy access to Louisville and Bowling Green.
We spent a lot of time on the patio just soaking up the quiet peacefulness. The kids didn’t even miss not being in the lake. They had plenty of games to keep them busy.
This is the first time we’ve rented a house. We will definitely do this again. Highly recommend this rental!!!
Our group was a family of 3 generations. We enjoyed the home so very much! There are many opportunities to include the entire group in games, skits & the outdoors. Our visit was during the summer Olympics which prompted an Olympic ping-pong tournament! The lake was beautiful, so clean & calm. We enjoyed boating, kayaking, fishing & swimming. Nightly corn hole games were fun, as was an indoor Bingo tournament. The house itself is very beautiful & accommodating, with lots & lots of extras throughout. We especially appreciated having wi-fi available for those who needed to attend to responsibilities off site. Thank you, Kristin for your quick responses to my questions. You have been a wonderful host!
A beautiful home to celebrate the love of family and the gift of nature!
Beyond our expectations, this massive home allowed 11 adults and 9 little ones under the age of 10 to gather together! We enjoyed waterfront swimming from the dock (double decker pontoon w/slide was easy to rent from the marina)Canoe was available for exploration and a golf cart for those who didn’t want to enjoy the walk down the path from the home. Wonderful meals were prepared in the well stocked kitchen…GENIUS separate ice maker made it so easy for us all! Loved the 2 big refrigerator/freezers AND the mini bar fridge; since it’s located about 35 minutes from grocery stores, we appreciated bringing all food and drinks that could be stored to last the week. The beds were large and comfortable, the bathrooms stocked with everything we needed. Able to wash clothes in full-size machines. The best part for the cousins was the bunk beds above the garage that slept 8 w/full bathroom, mini kitchen, and a loft bed for the attending parents (wish a queen size could fit up there, but that’s not a complaint😉) The beds and playroom together kept them very occupied. Seriously, they thought of EVERYTHING when setting this home up for rental. Worth every penny to find places of seclusion throughout, and yet rounds of fun at the pool table while the kids were mesmerized by the big screen TV with over 200 DVD’s. The setting near Mammoth Cave allowed us a day’s adventure, but we really didn’t want to leave the rest of the time!
This property was a perfect fit for our group of friends. The house was clean and had every amenity we needed. The owner was extremely helpful with making arrangements and filling us in on local information as needed. The property was also beautiful and well maintained.
Our extended family of 19 got together here, and it was a great spot. The kitchen is well stocked and there was plenty of room for everyone to gather together for meals. The kids loved the bunk house, basement and swimming off the dock. We rented a pontoon with a water slide from Wax Marina for a day and would definitely recommend. Swimming with little children is difficult since there isn’t a beach, but there are several options within a 30 minute drive!
A beautiful timber framed home in the woods of KY. They thought of everything. Beds were comfy, layout was great, kiddos can be pooled together in the bunkhouse and I would recommend it highly.
My extended family (ranging in ages from 1-72!) enjoyed the Timber Lake Lodge for our family gathering. The spaces were just as described and perfect for our group to enjoy games, cooking, and time together. The lake is a bit of a walk down a path so the added rental of the golf cart was great for the older and youngest family members who would have struggled with that. Kristin was super responsive and the house was clean and welcoming.
This house is gorgeous and roomy. Well appointed with many places for small groups to play games and enjoy the get-away. We had 16 and never felt crowded. We did not realize that the bunkhouse area was separated from the main house or that one bedroom was actually open to the bunk room. Since we had young kids we had one family use it while the rest stayed in the main house. Plenty of space on sofas for them.
It is a steep walk down to the lake. Bring good walking shoes! The lake was lovely with a dock for our boat. Nice area to float and have the kids play.
We are hoping to return next year since we found it a perfect fit.
Beautiful home with lots of space for a large family to hang out and relax. The layout is great. There are lots of beds in the bunkhouse to fit kids/teens. A large living area downstairs to hang out and play pool or play games or for little ones to run around. The kitchen has just about everything you need including spices for cooking and all of the liitle things you might not think to grab at the store. Very well stocked. The deck is a wonderful place to hang out and relax. There is a little bit if a walk to the lake but it is not too far. We enjoyed the canoe. The house is beautiful and Kristen was wonderful to deal with and easy to get in touch with. We appreciate her sharing her home with our family and would love to stay there again if she will have us. Highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a wonderful, relaxing vacation near the lake.
Gorgeous place on Nolin Lake. Our group had such a wonderful time and this property was the perfect place for it! If you have a large family or group of friends that like to get together to play games, cook, and boat this is the place to do it.
We loved having a small family reunion on Nolin! This house was so clean, had all of the appropriate items to make our stay comfortable. We especially loved the porch and fireplace. Highly recommend for big or small families!
Our host was very accommodating and responded immediately to any questions we had. The picture don't do the lodge or the property justice. It was perfect. We had our annual Marine Corp reunion and it was absolutely amazing. Thank you Kristen. We highly recommend this property and definitely will be back
