"The price for this hotel doesn’t match the accommodations. We flew in CLE to visit family, but wanted to break up the drive since the flight got in at almost midnight. I wasn’t expecting much, but this hotel fell below my expectations. The one positive, the bed was comfortable. The negatives outweighed that. There were many parking spots taken up by construction vehicles and materials (thinking long-term guests), so finding a spot was difficult. At check-in I was not told when breakfast or checkout was; I had to read the signs posted to get that information. When we entered the room it stunk. It smelled like dirty dog. We did not have a pet. The room looked like it had been “updated,” but it was more of a coverup situation. The shower head was very low making it difficult to shower. The power chair in the room, which was an odd touch, didn’t work. When we asked for two extra towels the not so personable housekeeper told me she didn’t have any. The worst part was breakfast. There were two types of cereal and milk. I think maybe a bread. The juice was awful. The silverware nonexistent. No fresh fruit, no warm items, no peanut butter or cream cheese. The breakfast area dirty. I wasn’t expecting great, but it was bare minimum. I would probably opt to stay in my car and save the money over this location next time."
"Very updated building with high quality room furnishings. Sufficient breakfast and even a workout room. Reliable WiFi, and even a freezer/fridge with separate compartments. Very roomy.
Unfortunately also - despite requesting a 2nd floor smoke-free room - penetrating smell of smoke during the night. There is no excuse for this - hotels can restrict (outdoor) smoking areas and enforce them; I asked the staff upon check-in and their stance was "we cannot control what people do outdoors" - this is frankly not true and other hotels CAN control this.
Guests can deal with noise by wearing earplugs, or with unwanted light with eye masks, but odors cannot be mitigated. The management is sadly missing a huge opportunity with a great property in a good location and will likely squander the fruits of their recent renovations. I will not stay here again."
"We had a bit of confusion with our reservation that we made through expedia but the hotel management helped us to make it right. After that the room they put us in had a plugged pipe in the sink, which was giving off a horrible odor. I reported it to the manager and they offered to move us - which we did NOT want. Then they had maintenance come the very next day (earliest possible) to correct the problem. Staff was very friendly and good to work with. The maintenance man called me personally to explain and even left a note to apologize for the inconvenience- which was very thoughtful. Overall, very happy with this stay- breakfast was good and staff was great!!"
"This was a great hotel experience. From the front desk people really took care of me. The breakfast was yummy. Place was clean. Everything worked. Even the ice machines were top notch! I would stay here again every time. Highly recommend"
"Landscaping was virtually nonexistent. Grass was over 6" high. Room was semi-clean. Shower & tub were disgusting, with visible mold & mildew. Hotel appears to have several 'long-term' residents, some of whom can be quite loud at times. Breakfast was lacking. Syrup dispenser was at a trickle, and obviously needs a good cleaning. Juice dispenser was present, but all four selections completely empty. Will not patronize this location again."
"I'm not trying to seem like a prude or anything like that. I reserved a room for 3 days and upon arrival I just immediately had a bad feeling about it. I can absolutely promise you there were bed bugs, the bed sheets were stained in the beds had not been changed. The bathroom was pretty gros as well. Even with all that though, if you looked at the door going out which was an outside door (Red Roof Inn style) there was a gap under it I could almost fit my fingers through. This place needs a complete regut and refurnish. Honestly I believe it is not only a flood hazard but a fire hazard. I took my key back to the desk and told the lady I was not going to stay there. She was very nice and offered me another room but I had seen enough. I can handle a place that looks worn or even outdated as long as its clean and sealed from the outside world. This place had all of that except for the clean and sealed part. It had all the security you would find having a tent in the parking lot except your tent wouldn't have bed bugs and dirty sheets. I'm not trying to insult the place, I'm speaking the absolute truth. The housekeeping staff needs fired. There's no excuse for gross when people are paying for a clean room, sealed from outside rodents. I believe the place could have a future but they would have to gut it, replace almost everything in the rooms and build a Lanai around the pool and actually fill it with water and chlorine."
