Fairmont Hotel Macdonald is an average hotel overall. The rooms were clean and well maintained, but the service left a lot to be desired. On arrival, the front desk staff weren’t particularly friendly or welcoming, and the concierge wasn’t especially helpful. On departure, however, the experience was much warmer, and Hendriks, the hotel’s canine ambassador, was an absolute gem and a highlight of the stay. It’s a decent place to stay if you’re looking for a clean room, but don’t expect exceptional service or a standout luxury experience.
