"This place is great. Very convenient location in Marathon. We stayed in the adults only building. The adult pool was great. Beach area was very nice. Food at the Rhum House was excellent. Staff was very friendly. And there is Wilma! She is the resident pet cat mascot. A super friendly, female orange long hair cat."

"The house was very clean and well stocked. Communication was wonderful, he even installed a TV in the master bedroom when I realized there wasn’t one. The pool was large and clean. Unfortunately we were unable to enjoy the outdoors due to the horrendous smell of the sargassum. We have never visited the area and had no idea the tide would go out probably at least 300ft during low tide and the bottom was a mucky mess without the sea grass. We watched the guests next door go out on a kayak but before they returned, the tide was so low they struggled nearly an hour trying to get the kayak back to shore. Even without the sea grass, I don’t believe the view would have been as inviting as we had hoped. When the tide was high, the view was great. We are from Florida, so we’re aware of sargassum, just never experienced it quite like this. It’s the first vacation I’ve been on that we were trying to figure out where to go instead of enjoying the home as intended. It was a reasonable price in comparison to other homes, but still overpriced since we were unable to enjoy what we came for. We ended up getting a room in Key West which was the highlight of our trip. I would definitely come back at a different time of the year. The host and home were great."

"We had a great week at this property and ultimately gave it 5 stars because it delivered exactly what we needed: an unbeatable location, beautiful water views, and a convenient home base for exploring the Keys.The biggest strengths are definitely the setting and location. The views are fantastic, and Grassy Key was a great central location for day trips both north and south. We spent most of our time out exploring, on the water, or enjoying the area, so having an affordable waterfront place to return to each evening worked well for our family.As fellow vacation rental hosts, I do think it’s important to set realistic expectations. This is not a luxury property or what many travelers would consider a “5-star experience” home. The house itself is quite basic and could benefit from some updates and repairs. The beds were not particularly comfortable, and amenities were minimal compared to many vacation rentals we have stayed in. If you’re looking for a highly appointed property with premium furnishings, extra touches, and resort-style comforts, this may not be the best fit.That said, if your priorities are location, views, affordability, and having a simple place to sleep between adventures, this property offers good value. It worked well for our family because we were rarely inside, and the waterfront setting was the real highlight of the stay."
