Walking in the door to the sound of a voice calling out "Cheri is that you?" set the tone for what proved to be a most pleasant stay. Brenda has put her heart and soul into this BnB and it shows in every way. Breakfast was a full, delicious buffet, the room was so comfortable I was asleep in minutes, and the menagerie of critters is a real treat. Brenda makes everyone feel comfortable and genuinely cares about ensuring they have a terrific experience. I'd return to Iowa just to stay here... don't need any other reason.

Wonderful hostess. Clean, nice aesthetics. Great breakfast, no matter what time you wanted it. Reminded me of childhood times at grandparents farm.

It was a perfect place for us to stay overnight. Brenda was extremely accommodating, kind, and interesting. The rooms are all spotless and attractive. The breakfast was wonderful - "homemade" and individualized. The internet was perfect. The rooms, of various sizes, are all on the second floor with no elevator which may be inconvenient for some. This is a place where people return and Brenda becomes "like family."

You can not find better BB anywhere /// Brenda the owner is incredible and to me every thing was the bests /// There are very cute tiny kitties out side that children would love to play with and she waits on you hand and foot to please every one . Animal farm !!
Brenda was an excellent hostess. The breakfasts were superb. The location was convenient to other places we were going to visit while staying at the B&B. Brenda recommended a place to go for dinner and that food was great and the location only a short drive away. We really enjoyed the animals Brenda has.

This was an amazing place to spend the an overnight. Brenda Met is when we were getting out of our car. Her home was wonderful and you could tell she enjoyed sharing it with others. We would stay again if we were in the area.

Wonderful B & B. Brenda was very attentive to welcoming us and assuring we had a great stay. The personally prepared breakfast from scratch was delicious and very generous portions. We have already recommended So Dear To My Heart B&B to our friends.

Beautiful 100-year old farmhouse in excellent condition and immaculately maintained. I've stayed in many Hotels, B&B's and AirBNB's in my life but Brenda's exceptional "FarmTel" is without a doubt, the cleanest, friendliest and most enjoyable experience ever. Oh, and her breakfasts are to die for. Thank you Brenda.

A great place to stay!
Brenda runs a great B&B. It is more than a business to her. It is her passion and she does a great job. The B&B itself is -I kid you not- a Sears house ordered from a catalogue 100 years ago or so. It is a huge Craftsman style house that is beautiful and historic. The house is perfectly preserved and maintained in pristine condition. Brenda is great host and makes a killer farm breakfast too, with eggs from her own chickens. It's pretty great and we're coming back. If you stay there be sure to visit the animals, especially the donkey Eeyore, who is very sweet.

Wonderful country B & B

beautiful house and lovely host
This house is 100 years old, and has been lovingly restored and cared for by the owner. She grew up nearby and has loved this house from the time she was a little girl! It's tastefully decorated with beautiful antiques, but not overly cutesy like some B+Bs. Guests are welcome in any of the beautiful shared spaces. It was winter so I didn't get to spend time on the charming huge screened porch, but i did get a soda out of the vintage soda fridge out there. The house was one of those Sears Roebuck houses from the early 1900s; I always thought those were simple structures, but this place must have been a very 'high end' house in those days! Just gorgeous. There are several rooms so you could rent them all and have quite the family reunion. She will cater to whatever kind of breakfast you like.

Quiet country retreat
We had a late night in but it did not matter to the owner/housekeeper who warmly welcomed us with crackers and cheese. It's a beautiful historic home with comfortable rooms and a bathroom/shower for guests. The owner has some lovely farm animals that you can interact with, a donkey and horses, a dog and cats, chickens, alpaca. She made a homemade to -order breakfast that was absolutely scrumptious with real farm-fresh eggs and lots of choices. We enjoyed our conversations with the owner/housekeeper, who treated us like royalty.

I am not sure you reviewed the correct place. I have showers in all of the bathrooms (3) and there is only one person, not people. Hhhmmmm, don't think this is the place that you actually stayed at.

A wonderfully relaxing setting and great owner
We had a great time staying at So Dear To My Heart Bed & Breakfast in SE Iowa. Brenda's home is so relaxing and has a wonderful atmosphere. It was so peaceful sitting outside with the beautiful weather talking with the owner. It was like hanging out with a longtime friend. She is a fantastic host and very accommodating. Along with her nice home and beautiful surroundings, she has her outdoor family too. From horses to chickens and more in pastures, pens and barns. If you haven't had the opportunity to meet an Alpaca, here's your chance. Even Eeyore lives here. We stayed two nights and awoke each day refreshed and relaxed. So Dear To My Heart Bed & Breakfast is a hidden gem. This place is a great place for a getaway or a start and ending point for day trips. We have already planned a return visit to stay with Brenda yet this year. Be sure and google her B&B's name and add "Disney" for the source of the naming.

Lovely Relaxing Accommodations, wonderful hostess.
It was a very relaxing, upbeat experience. Brenda (the owner, cook, and housekeeper)is very friendly, warm, and welcoming. Breakfast is wonderful! The house is historic, well-maintained, and clean, and Brenda has it filled with beautiful antique furniture and decor. It was so enjoyable to eat breakfast with the other guests and exchange information about our home towns, traveling experiences, and other topics. It definitely spoiled us for mere motels and hotels.

Perfect Iowa Farm
Absolutely loved this place. The host is as friendly as they get. Treated us like royalty. Gave us a tour of the property and let us interact with the natives (ie. all the barnyard animals - horses, cats, dogs, donkey (Eeyore)). Fireflies at night. Ice cream before bed. Wonderful breakfast at 0 dark 30. It's a half hour or so from Muscatine, but it was worth the short drive to not stay at a hotel and be treated so wonderfully.

So dear to OUR heart !
We had the pleasure of staying at Brenda's home along with 10 other guests during the recent biking event in Iowa. Brenda warmly welcomed us and gave us a brief tour of her beautiful home before taking us to the "blue room" where we stayed. Everything was clean and comfortable. If we needed anything, Brenda was more than willing to help. In the morning we had a delicious breakfast homemade by Brenda. What a way to start the day. We would not hesitate to recommend So Dear To My Heart to others.
