Penhas da Saúde is the closest town to Torre, the highest point in mainland Portugal, and home to the country's only ski resort. Several restaurants are within walking distance. We are also located near the ice rink and the natural pool of Penhas da Saúde. In 15 minutes (by car), you will be in the center of Covilhã, where you can find all amenities such as supermarkets, pharmacies, a hospital, etc. Come and discover everything that Serra da Estrela has to offer! The landscape of the Serra da Estrela Natural Park is impressive and deserves a visit throughout the year. You can always count on hikes along magnificent trails and walkways, fantastic viewpoints, picturesque villages full of history, and phenomenal gastronomy. In summer, the easily accessible natural pools and river beaches delight visitors. In winter, whether there's snow or not, you can also enjoy an ice skating rink.
