Genevieve's Place in Historic Roscoe Village
UNIQUE EXPERIENCE to stay in one of the most iconic buildings in Historic Roscoe Village! The 1860's canal era building has a long history, originally constructed as a hotel on the 2nd and 3rd floors, the main floor was a pharmacy and dry goods store.
You will now find a full kitchen, full bathroom, living room, and two bedrooms, one with a queen size bed, and the other with two twin beds. The apartment has Direct TV as well as high speed internet.
This charming 3rd floor apartment is located in the heart of Historic Roscoe Village, just steps away from shopping, dining and two wonderful bars.
There is Coin Operated Laundry available for guests, located on the 2nd floor of the building. Please feel free to use the laundry facility if you need.
Roscoe Village is a very walkable area - once you've parked, you do not need a vehicle to explore the whole village. There is a dedicated gravel parking lot behind the building for our Airbnb and apartment guests. The host will send you an aerial photo of the building and parking lot for reference once you've booked.
Located within the heart of Historic Roscoe Village, this historic canal era town is filled with charm and small shops and just steps away from excellent dining options and a wonderful bar (with another opening soon). Also within walking or biking distance are the beautiful trails of Lake Park. Amish Country is just a short drive away and makes for an excellent day trip while staying in Roscoe Village.Downtown Coshocton is 2 minutes, Kid's America 10 minutes, Clary Gardens 3 minutes, Lake Park 5 minutes, West Lafayette and Warsaw 10 minutes. South Second Street (5 minutes) is where you will find fast food, pizza, discount stores and gas stations. EV chargers are located across from COTC on N. Whitewoman St. in Roscoe Village.
You are within walking distance of all of Roscoe Village. There are several area taxi services available if you wish to travel outside Roscoe Village and prefer not to drive.
You are staying in the restored Roscoe Hotel (circa 1856). The building was built by Arnold Medbery and it replaced Medbery’s earlier, wood framed hotel (built 1832) that burned. This building was also a stagecoach stop and was believed to have been on the Underground Railroad. The building housed retail businesses on the main level, sleeping rooms on the second and third floors, and a ballroom on the top floor.
The wood floors are from trees as far back as the 1600's and the original plaster walls have some cracks from nearly 170 years that add charm and character to the rooms. There was no electricity or cars and Ohio was just over 40 years old when this building was populated by early European settlers moving west. Millard Fillmore was president and the American civil war was still years away. This is no ordinary airbnb apartment, we have added modern conveniences but tried to keep the historical integrity alive for your enjoyment.
Make sure to visit the Coshocton Visitors Bureau located across the street from the apartment to get tons of local recommendations! There are other apartments in the building, so general conscientiousness is expected and appreciated.

This was the cutest little place. Easy to find, amazing architecture and history. The Coffee House downstairs was amazing. Easy check in, high ceilings and great communication from the host. We will be staying again. We found our place in Ohio to stay.
Genevieve's Place in Historic Roscoe Village was a fantastic choice for accommodation. The host provided clear and concise directions for parking and locating the apartment entrance. The quaint town offered delightful opportunities for dining and leisurely strolls. It was a truly enjoyable weekend, and the host was highly responsive to our needs.
We were there for a Llama show. It was a nice area to be in with the restaurants being below where we were staying. Nice historic area. Some nice shopping even though I didn’t get to go in the stores. Only draw back, the walls are a little thin so we could hear the bar next door across the street.
The apartment was perfect for our weekend. Clean and spacious. AC worked great. looked like a full kitchen but we went out. Visited Indian Bear Cork & Coffee(awesome tea), Huck's Tavern, Good Boy Bakery,Olde Thyme Country Market,Collins Meat and Food market,The Boathouse, & Main ST Station. All recommended stops. No Uber. Updated the book with a working cab. Coshocton Cab cheap and quick
We came in town for my Mom’s reunion of high school friends. The location was perfect for all our outings. I was born in Coshocton and haven’t been there in over 20 years. As a kid I loved Roscoe Village. Our place was so nice and cute. Easy to book, check in process very easy. On arrival we were very pleased to see how clean it was. We had a short stay so will be coming back and staying here again.
I used to live and work in the area and it was nice to come back and visit with some friends and favorite places.
Check-in and check-out were clear and easy. Historical charm. Could sometimes hear people in the other apartment, but it didn't impact our stay. Was a relaxing way to spend our long weekend away from home.

Clean your sheets!
Roscoe is an adorable town with many shops. This historic hotel was sorta cute, but the rooms were small and the bathroom had a very odd layout. The sheets were all dirty, covered in hair and some sort of crust on the pillows. The sheets that we tried to replace the dirty ones with we're also dirty. The bedroom nightstand had mouse terds. I wouldn't recommend this place, though the owner was responsive to my messages. Save yourself the trouble, sleep at a hotel in a bed that doesn't sag in the middle.
I loved this place. It is so cute and looks just like the pictures, if not better! The location is great. And the property manager was easy to communicate with and sent all the information quickly and answered all of my questions. I will definitely be back and I will recommend this VRBO to friends and family in the area.
This cozy place was in an historic building in Roscoe Vtllage, an old Ohio canal town. Roscoe Village is a restored treasure. This apartment inn was right on main street within a block of several restaurants and a bar. This second story accommodation had quiet outdoor seating overlooking a garden and lots of trees. The host was very prompt with replies to my questions.
Stairs to 3rd floor flat dirty with cobwebs and trapped insects. Inside clean but holes and scrapes in walls. A bit crude. OK for a couple college guys but not if brought my wife, or for retired guys or couples. Stairs 3 flights a bit much for older people.
Great location, but that is all. Never met the host. A smoking area next to the front door results in neighbors conveying until the early morning hours, walking up and down on the wooden floors. The interconnecting door between apartments did not dampen any noise from the neighbors, we were up until 3 am listening to music and conversation. The double bed was utterly worn out and uncomfortable.
